To pave or not to pave a Leon Mege

Hello all,
I'm getting an e-ring done by Leon Mege for my fiancé-to-be. Perry helped me choose a round 1.2 carat stone and I decided I want to go for the tulip solitaire look. The ring will look very much like this one: R6120

Now on to the real question. I'm breaking my head on wether to pave or not. I like the simplicity, minimalism, and overall robustness of leaving it with no pave however Leon's pave work is gorgeous and I'm sure the ring could also look very feminine and sophisticated if done properly. I like Leon's mushroom pave (I am not a fan of fishtail) but am open to suggestions. Any thoughts?? Thanks a bunch!
Alfonso

By the way, the pave to consider would be single line mushroom to about 4 and 8 o clock. Thanks.

Do you have a link that would show it with the pave? Does your future fiancé prefer very simple and classic jewelry?

I personally prefer the classic plain look, and just stack a thin eternity when feel like having more bling.

I like the e-ring with no pave and get the wedding band with diamonds.

Me too. Much more flexibility with wedding bands.

Unfortunately I have never seen a Leon tulip with pave so thats why I'm having a tough time deciding. I have to imagine what it would look like. Its funny but she actually doesn't really care about jewelry all that much, she said that she'll love whatever I give her. That being said, I still want to give her something very special for my budget!

I think a plain solitire is more flexible and gives her a lot of options regarding her wedding band. :wavey:

Thank you all for you replies they are extremely helpful insight from ladies' perspective that know what they like! I'm leaning towards keeping it simple yet classy with no pave and then saving that money for a better wedding band. That way she can have the best of both worlds. Im just kind of paranoic that the ring will look too plain (Leon's work is so amazing I would never call it plain), but for some reason I've felt recently like I want to always add more stuff on. Most times its best keeping it simple and letting the mind rest...

I think you are right Gypsy, besides, that way the diamond is the complete center of attention!

Not to throw you for a loop, but I wanted to suggest this setting:

A solitaire but with a GORGEOUS six prong basket.

Classic but unique and frankly I like this better than any setting in this thread. It's by ERD.

Definitely.

Thank you very much ladies!! I've been thinking and thinking a lot about the ring for many weeks now and reading and investigating all over. Sometimes you think about something so much you start getting confused, besides, seeing all the gorgeous rings out there in the forums, theres always that feeling of wanting everything.

I saw that setting as well actually and I think it is lovely!! But for my budget I decided to prioritize cut and color so my rock is a hearts and arrows, F, but only 1.2 carats. Wouldn't it look too small in that otherwise gorgeous setting?

The prongs in Leon's tulip solitaire are so delicate that I imagine they might even become invisible and all you see is the diamond floating over a beautiful minimalist ring.

I think the setting could be adapted to a 1.2.

And yes, Leon's prongs are very delicate. Maybe ask Leon if he can do something like the ERD basket for you?

Actually, I prefer the sophisticated simplicity of the tulip setting...

proving once again that people vary!

I would definitely vote no pave. I think Leon's version of this ring is stunning and paired with a gorgeous band - wow!

I love the elegance of the solitaire. Besides, if she isn't into jewelry then I don't think she will miss the pave. Remember: You can always halo it later if she feels the solitaire is missing "something." Your stone is going to be beautiful in that setting. :appl:

I would prefer the all platinum version by Leon, paired with a blingy band. Especially since she is not a jewelry person it will be beautiful yet practical for you.

I also love the Boston Jeff by Leon:

Did your gf ever say a style she likes? or have things on a pinterest page? SUCH a personal decision...
