I got a quote from Union diamond to design this ring for 1500 for .3kt, or 1700 for .5kt sidestones, and another quote from Diamond DirectMN for 1300 (plus tax) for .5kt.

My best friend, got her ering custom made from DD and it looks excellent. So for pure monetary reasons, I think I will go with her local jeweler.

ON the other hand, I have gotten much better customer service from Union, and purchased my diamond from them. But loyalty as customer, I suppose stops when I know I we can get the work done for so much cheaper with another trusted jeweler.

Anyway, all that is really besides that point I wanted PSers opinions on whether I should go with .5kt side stones or .3kt side stones for this ring. IN the pic, the main diamond is .75 with .5kt sidestones. My diamond is 1.19kt. I want a classy, vintage, yet simple look for my ring.

Thanks for your thoughts in advanced!

I would go with .50ct sides.

I agree with Lorelei, seeing as your main stone will be larger than the one pictured I think the .50 will be very complimentary and in proportion to the larger stone.

Nice setting!

I think it depends on if you want the center stone to POP or flow, the size of her finger and how dainty or pronounced you want the setting to be. Have you seen a sample of the .30cts for comparison?

Because the size of your center stone is larger I would go with the .5 for the sidestones. That way it will be closer to the proportions in the picture you posted.

Enjoy the process!!
