I am having my sq. H&A cushion set in a Ritani endless love setting with no halo. The e-ring sample at the store was almost eternity style but with a small section of metal for sizing. My sales person said that Ritani can make my e-ring a full eternity to match the WB but they recommend keeping the spacer in case I ever need to resize it. I am leaning towards doing the full eternity band on the e-ring so that it will match the WB perfectly.

To those with eternity rings, have you ever had to resize your ring? I would appreciate any insight or tips on this issue.

Also, if you are in between sizes, is it better to go with a size that is a little bigger or a little smaller? I have a 14k white gold ring I wear on my right hand that is size 5.5 and it seems a little loose on my left so I''m worried that the e-ring/wb set will be too big. I am going to get my finger sized on Thursday just to double check since I haven''t had it officially sized in over a year.

This is from a 9 month preggo point of view, KEEP the sizing bar! I haven''t been able to wear my wedding set for 4 months and *part* of me is slightly worried my fingers will not go back to their original size. My e-ring can be sized but my WB is an eternity band. I do love it but I doubt I will buy another eternity band. Seems too risky IMHO. I think 1/2 or 3/4 is a "safer" way to go.

Good advice from Tacori! Many, many people have a change in ring size over a 40-50 year marriage. I would absolutely recommend a sizing area.

Oh, and the right hand ring finger on a right handed person is generally a little larger than the left. I do not like snug rings, so I'd avoid getting it too small. You can always add sizing beads if it turns out a little too big.

I agree about keeping the sizing bar. I was unable to wear my rings during my first pregnancy, but my fingers returned to normal. After my second pregnancy, however, my knuckles stayed permanently larger and I could no longer wear my rings. I decided get new rings and not have the originals resized, since that would have ruined the pretty all-over engraving on them.

Even my husband had to get a new wedding ring after 17 years since his fingers got larger too. He was no longer the skinny young guy I married, but I am keeping him anyway!

Thank you ladies for the replies. You have definitely given me something to consider...I didn''t even think about the possibility of my knuckle enlarging after having kids.

Oh, one more question...it is kind of off-topic but do you think it is worth it to purchase the Care service from BBB for $100 per ring? They will resize, repair, polish, service the rings for 2 years, free of charge.

I vote for the sizing bar.

And no to the 200 2 year plan.

It''s not free of charge. You''re paying 200 bucks. In the first 4 years of owning my setting, and mine was gold, I got it replated twice= 130 bucks. Polished it once-- free at Joe Escrobar. Never re-sized it. So for me, it would have been 70 bucks wasted... over FOUR years. Over two years? Total waste of money.

Hi Teetee! As you know I too am getting the Ritani! Have you thought about having the wedding band made with a sizing bar to match the ering? That''s what I''m doing. Like the rest of the ladies here, I think it''s safer to leave open the possibility that your fingers may change over the course of your long life!

About the sizing, I know exactly what you''re going through! Size 4 makes my fingers look like snausages, but size 4.5 is a little too easy to slip off. In the end I think I am going with the 4.5. I vote for a little loose over a little tight!

Thanks Gypsy...FF said no to the service plan too. He equated it to the service plans they offer you at electronics stores and everyone knows those are a waste of money.

yamsicle - did you ask if they can do a 4.25 for you? I asked my sales person about quarter sizes and he said that was possible. I like your suggestion of getting the sizing bar on the WB too. Since they are making both at the same time, they can match the metal on both. Initially I didn''t understand why the sales guy recommended the sizing bar on the e-ring but not the wb but he explained that they could exchange my wb for another one if I needed to resize it. Now that I think of it, it sounds odd that they would give you a completely new ring but that''s what he said.

Teehee - that is really odd about replacing the whole ring. I think it would be way easier just to get the sizing bar on both. If you had to replace the ring, does that mean another 6-8 weeks without it because it would need to go back to Ritani?!?

About the 4.25. . .I haven''t been able to try on a 4.25. My fear is that it would still be snausagy, ''cuz the 4.5 looks just right. I have gone back and forth about it way more than I should. Le sigh.

Who woulda thunk that little pieces of metal and rock could make me so neurotic!

Another vote for keeping the sizing bar. I started off being a size 4 1/4 but after kids, have gone to just under a size 5. My size has remained constant for many years, but if I had gotten an eternity band in a 4 1/4 early on, I would have been SOL...

This is what I am worried about! Luckily my entire WB was still cheaper than my e-ring setting so if there comes a time when I can no longer wear it, it would be less of a blow than if it was my engagement right.

You need a sizing bar, after 23 years of marriage and 2 kids my ring size has went up, something about having kids changes everything on a woman

You all are very wise woman. Thank you for sharing your experiences...I think I will get the sizing bar on both rings so that they will match.

Now I am getting worried about what will happen to me when I have kids.

heehee.

PS - yamiscle, I know what you mean about neurotic...I''m usually a decisive person but I just can''t make up my mind about these little details! That''s why I love PS...you can always count on getting some good advice.
