every one stays home in social isolation except essential workers
it is so entailed - a lot of legislation to pass today before parliment closed up shop
only essential services - quite a long list - to be allowed to remain working
no going to the beach, no surfing, no fishing, no hunting as search and rescue and the coast guard need to be home too
national parks closed
so no going bush (so no head for the hills)
kids with seperated parents may go between houses but only if in the same town
a nanny can be hired if both parents are in essential services, the nanny's house hold and the client's house hold being treated as one unit
2 people living alone can also be a unit but must remain 2m apart
we can go for a walk as a house hold but no talking to anyone and stay apart from others- no playing on playgrounds, no public loos but rubbish will still be collected
no villiganties - call the non 111 police number
only 1 person per household to go grocery shopping
mechanics may work but only on the vehicles of essential workers
no going to holiday home unless you plan to be there for the duration
always stressing shop normally and this is not a holiday
police and woman's refuge acknowledge family violence will be a problem for some but help will be available
vets are open but phone first and will do consultations in car parks
soup kitchens and night shelters will continue to operate but will not be serving hot meals
no takeaways or urber eats - only grocery and uncooked food deliveries

rents have been frozen and banks are doing morgage holidays, the govt will act if price gourging happens

building supply stores may be open but only for trade customers, not the public and builders can only work on jobs pertaining to essential services

i beleave in the free market economy but i welcome these rules
i feel so greatful to live here
we have just over 200 cases - 3 in hospital, and about 11 recovered, no deaths- but the numbers are escalating alarmingly daily - they say we will have a 1000 cases if all goes well but we must stay home in our bubble to save lives
they had to extent the deadline to get everyone home to their own towns because the ferries were full, Air NZ is flying big jets domestically but i think they are spacing people out
almost all our cases are caused by people returning from overseas - but worryingly 4 community cases
people now coming in from overseas will be quarenteened in hotels comendered by the govt because self isolation was not working
some tourists here are in a precarious situation but i think the govt will work something out
kiwifruit industry needs 20,000 workers to pick fruit - farming etc has to keep going
the army can be called to help the police, who will arrest people who don't comply
road blocks might be set up
only essential travel
school holidays have been moved so the kids will only miss a couple of weeks and gives time to work out how to get all the kids internet access
billions and billions of dollars being spent in order to keep us all going
no stand down for the unempyment benifit and no cap now on the size of bussiness to get the $500 p/w wages subsidy p/p. bussiness loans available
its mind blowing
the opposition has stopped its election camagin to support the govt

we will be paying for this for years but what has to be done has to be done
im not in any way a fan of the PM but im worried about her - she is looking thin and very tired and haggady - it must be a dreadful strain
i have even made room in my prayers for her because she is right - if we don't do this now thousands of NZers will die

scary times but she says don't be scared because we have a plan - also don't hoard - i don't blame her for loosing patience when she has to repeat this every day that we have plenty of food
and of course we need to be kind
