I can capture the event itself. But capturing the event on camera for cataloging is difficult. Even adjusting the white balance manually isnt much of an improvement.Nearly everything is coming out purple in the camera lens?
Is there anything I can do?
The uv light is a basic one off Amazon, might this be the issue? Ive seen fantastic photos of mineral fluorescence and im so frustrated that I cant replicate that color accuracy 20200706_033111.jpg 20200706_032704.jpg 20200706_032101.jpg 20200706_033053.jpg 20200706_033044.jpg

Best to use a UV torch and shine it on each stone separately in a dark room.

Are you certain these stones are fluorescent?

UV light for gemstone testing Long Wave is 365nm. You can various types of UV or “black light” torches/ lamps/ bulbs between 315nm and 400nm. You specifically want a light that is 365nm.
Not all gems and minerals react to UV light, some are inert.
Many types of Synthetic gemstones have fluorescence while the natural gem is inert. Different origins of gems ie rubies can affect the level of fluorescence.
So fluorescence by itself doesn’t mean anything.
If you are trying to identify a gemstone more important tests would be 1. Looking for inclusions with a loupe or microscope 2. Checking Specific gravity 3.Checking With a dichroscope 4. ditto Spectrometer 5. Ditto polariscope. 6 checking refractive index plus perhaps a magnet and Chelsea Filter.
Using a gem UV light here are yellow diamonds 21DACAF8-A5FA-45F2-A549-1271C9A9E0DC.jpeg

I think you should just see what the jeweler says and that way you don't invest any more money in lights/testers/cameras! It's often very difficult to catch the colors you want on camera, so just enjoy them with your own eyes for now!

In a separate thread, OP stated she was bring these items to a jeweler "tomorrow" which now was five days ago. This thread was created afterwards. So either she has already been told in person that all this jewelry is worthless, or she is lying about seeing a jeweler. These threads should be shut down as the best case scenario at this point is that OP is trolling.
