I knew his name and what he looked like as soon as you posted, Matata, but I had to look up his biography to see the name of the show I knew him from. I didn't remember seeing him on "The Carol Burnett Show", which I rarely if ever watched. I remembered seeing him as a sailor. I refreshed my memory and realized that I used to watch "McHale's Navy" when I was a child. I remembered him as Ensign Parker.
"Conway’s career had first been jump-started by the World War II-set sitcom “McHale’s Navy,” starring Ernest Borgnine. He played the bumbling, naive Ensign Charles Parker, executive officer of the PT-73, on 138 episodes of the show (1962-66), as well as the two feature films based on it, receiving his first Emmy nomination for his performance in 1963."
Noooo!
Such sad news!
I remember him from Mchale's Navy, and of course the Carol Burnet Show.
So talented!
I still watch reruns of Carol Burnet on MeTV. Still so funny, after all these years.
RIP Tim Conway! He was definitely one of the best. Most of those Carol Burnett skits were hilarious and I especially loved it when they all started laughing. He truly brought some joy and laughs to the world.
