I recently went to a Tiffanys jewelry store to look at their diamonds and I was truly impressed by the cut of their diamonds. Granted, this was viewed under the jewelry store lighting, but the stones were amazing. How does the cut quality of a Tiffany diamond compare a Whitefash ACA diamond? Same or better?

People come here fairly often and post the lab reports on Tiffany stones. They have very nice diamonds, but many are not to the standards of a WhiteFlash ACA. Tiffany lighting is excellent, and all their diamonds look great there! But you really have to be selective to find stones that compare to an ACA.

I have an ACA, and it's so ridiculously fiery, sparkly and flashy that people don't believe it's a real diamond. IMO, Tiffany is way overpriced for mediocre quality. Workmanship on their diamond accent and halo settings is really poor. They're selling the name. To me, there are names that really say "quality" (Cartier, for example), and Tiffany just doesn't do it for me.

With an ACA, you're getting a super-ideal cut stone, backed up by certification from a reputable laboratory. It will look amazing in environments other than jewelry store lighting. With the Tiffany, you're relying on a reputation rather than verification. I guess I trust the "math" and science behind the cutting of an ACA and AGS's light performance grading more than I trust a brand.

What the brand name means where you are, or where you come from differs. From where I am, Tiffany is more impressive than Cartier. So the statement above doesn't hold true universally.

Each person places a different value on branding, and on jewelry and on diamonds. Here on PS, threads tend to lean towards objectively "better" diamonds in terms of the 4Cs, at a lower price point than big brand diamonds.

However, if you are proposing, seriously sometimes the lady couldn't give a rat's @#$%$ about the 4Cs so long as it comes in a beautiful robin's egg blue box with the white/red ribbon.

I personally love Tiffany. (I also love solasfera, and eight star) But sadly there is no magic to their cut. There are others that can do better, frequently for less money.

There is a magic to their brand though. And as an overall package, they are really hard to beat.

You spend your money, and you get what you want :)

I agree with what everyone said here on this website. I agree that Tiffanys is selling a name more than a great diamond. If we had more people come to pricescope to learn more about diamonds, it would provide great competition to B&M stores like Tiffanys.
