Tiffany's Gatsy Collection/Ziegfeld Collection

I like the onyx in pearl halo ring… I <3 rings! And the daisy pendant. But yikes.. what ridiculous pricing!

None of it turns me on much. Pretty ho hum & commercial. The prices just make me laugh.

I really love that pearl tassel necklace!!

Sterling silver? For $600?

Uh, no.

I dig the daisy lockets, but yowza, those prices?? Even for Tiffany, that's really inflated.

I like a few of the pieces but they strike me as the kind of stuff I would buy but never end up wearing. That is, if you didn't mind the prices.

I've been obsessed with tassel necklaces lately. So I love that piece. (But personally would buy a gorgeous vintage one in gold for the same price instead of the Tiffs one).

A couple of the pieces remind me of that silver jewelry carried at Nordstrom...Lois Hill (is that the name?)

The jewelry Cartier provided for the 1974 Gatsby was much better.

HI:

Very pretty items! Thanks for the link.

Do you still wear your Tiffany yellow gold and turquoise necklace, Circe?

Heh - all the time! Especially when the weather warms up - yellow gold and turquoise on sun-browned skin are a delicious combination. ;)

Madam Bijoux, do you know of any examples? I would LOVE to compare then-and-now.

Me, too! Though, what I love are the graduated pearl sautoirs, and they ALWAYS seem to go for 5k or more. Makes this seem like a veritable bargain!

Off to research graduated pearl sautoirs, not that I need another obsession...

Hi, Circe. The pics above are great examples. MIA Farrow wore a stunning marquise diamond ring, all the pearl necklaces were magnificent and there were beautiful sapphires, too. That movie is a feast for a jewelry lover's eyes.

HI:

AND her champagne glass is JUST the RIGHT size!

Eh. You can do better, Circe!

I will never ever buy anything from Tiffany's again. I had planned to get A's first set of plate/bowl/cup and sterling spoon from them, but the experience I just had trying to get a ss bracelet repaired turned me off them forever.

They make beautiful things, and the beautiful things come in lovely packaging. I hope others are treated better than I; and I'm sure they are since they are a great big company who has lots of years and tradition behind them.
