I forgot to mention that I saw a 7 stone wedding band at Tiffany's yesterday that I loved more than any shared prong band I had seen. In looking through the ring folder on SMTR, I saw that Seven's One had Quest make a ring like this with basket heads. I do not see that Facets makes them like this, and I think it is such a pretty look! Of course, the Facets bands are half the price of Tiffany, so I can't justify buying it there! But I wondered if anyone knows of a vendor who makes a copy of this Tiffany band as a regular stock item?

Question for Sevens One...do you wear an e-ring with this band? Do you have a problem with the diamonds scratching the e-ring prongs? The man at Tiffany's said he had not heard of that problem. I am not going to get a shared prong band unless I can be sure it won't hurt the e-ring.

I am attaching a ring that has a good side view of the kind of setting I am talking about.

Diamondseeker - I'm obviously not Sevensone, but I might have some useful info. Here is a picture of my eternity band, which looks similar to the one in the photo you posted. I don't wear it with my e-ring, but instead with my sapphire and diamond three stone ring. It has frankly scratched the heck out of the prongs and the basket, but I wear them together anyway. Every once in a while I get the scratches polished out and it's like new again.

Dee Jay...I hope you''ll post the picture! Where did you get yours?

Damn, of course now I can't get it to post. Here's a link - scroll down to the fourth post before the bottom for a side view. Sorry - if I can figure it out I'll post it later.

DeeJay, I was able to post it. Here''s the top view of DeeJay''s eternity band.

That is magnificent! Wow! Thanks for helping Lizz! I''ll check out the thread!

Lizz - thank you (sometimes I''m completely inept... !)

Where did you get it, Dee Jay?

I had it made by my local jeweler (in Chicago). I'm happy to share his info if you're willing to go the "phone route."

The eternity band has 14 stones, .34 to .36 cts each, F to G color, all VS1 or VS2.

He's done several pieces for me and they are all of excellent quality. (I wish I had gotten my e-ring upgrade from him too, but it became a matter of inventory... and my own impatience!)

Wow, DJ, that eternity band is montrous! YUM!

The profile view is excellent too!

Milly, thank you! I looooove that ring (probably as much--or more--than my e-ring!)

Not sure if you''ve purchased your ring yet, but I''m planning on getting the same Tiffany seven-stone band (.91 total carat weight, $5400) to wear as an egagement ring. The setting is absolutely stunning - I haven''t seen anything that comes close to it in all my ring shopping (and I have done quite a bit!)

I did, however find this one on Jewelry Central for $2400, which appears to be the same as the Tiffany one:

http://www.jewelrycentral.com/product.asp?pID=3913&cID=125

I had never heard of this vendor before. I called them to see what the restocking fee would be, and was told that it would be $227 to return (restock) this ring.

The main difference in this ring compared to the Tiffany one (other than the obvious price) is the cut, which is what made me decide to stick with Tiffany. The person I talked to at Jewelry Central said the cut/polish was "good/good." I know Tiffany does better than that. Also, Jewelry Central uses IGI for color grading, so this ring''s G-H color is not likely to be as good as Tiffany''s G color.

Hope this helps. Good luck, and let me know what you end up with!

Wow, it was strange to see this old thread again!

Misskiss, that Tiffany band is very beautiful...I have tried it on! Since I am getting a new diamond solitaire, I just need to put as much toward that as possible, so I can''t justify buying a band from Tiffany. However, since you want it to be your e-ring, I don''t blame you for wanting the finest one you can find! It is perfect!

I have since found another reproduction of this ring at Signed Pieces/Facets. It is .93cts, F-G, VVS-VS in platinum for only $1835. I amy get this one:

I just bought a milgrain engraved channel-set eternity band from SP because it was on sale! Need to get one of my kids to post pictures for me!

mrssalvo...wow! That one is beautiful, too! I won''t go full eternity for a larger shared-prong band. I''ll probably stick with 7 stones. The one I just bought was full eternity but with smaller stones. But I''d like to have both!

oh-well, can''t wait to see what you end with.

Actually Nan never saw this one, so maybe she will this time!

DS, here''s a pic of a Facets 7-stone. It''s with 8 pointers though but it does have the basket setting.

I have been hoping you would post pics of your new channel eternity band for us.

That 7 stone ring from Signed Pieces is just gorgeous! Which one do you plan to wear with your proposed solitaire upgrade when you get it?

Hi, Sundial,

We've been on vacation the past week so I haven't been able to talk anyone into taking ring photos for me! I am going to have to break down and get a camera for myself and learn how to get the pictures loaded on the computer.

I am thinking of getting a plain solitaire setting for the e-ring so that I can have more than one band! I am concerned about wearing a shared-prong setting daily because of the scratching issue. On the other hand, I like DeeJay's and JustJulia's (and a few others) idea of a big diamond band to wear alone! So for the moment, I am concentrating on getting my diamond to wear with the channel set band. Let me add that it does not look like a typical channel set band due to the fact that the edges are thin and milgrained. I'll try to get my daughter to take a picture...we need to find her manual to see where the macro lens button is!!!!

Wow, thanks for the photo, wmw! Is this your ring? It is very nice! I think SP/Facets has such nice quality.

Hi, it''s just something I bought for my fiancee, to give her engagement ring some company.

The quality of the diamonds and the setting is superb.

Well, wow, you did a terrific job in choosing a band! I''ll have to do a search and see if you have posted her e-ring yet!

bumping for sevens...

GEEZ I''m so very sorry.

I never saw this.
DUH (spending too much time in the folder

I love the basket style shared prong band that Quest made for me.
They were wonderful to work with.
I know others have had problems wiht the scratching but I haven''t noticed it.
I don''t always wear the seven stone with the ering- I switch around.
But when I do- no scratching.

hope that helps- sorry again for missing this

it''s about .70 ctw

I had four 10 pt stones from an old mounting, and bought three new ones from James allen aka DCD.
They sent the three to Quest for the ring.

I didn''t have any pictures or anything. I just told them I wanted it like the Tiffany version.
