oh boy, this one is a little tricky, I would do color and clarity... but there are issues, that has been discussed on Clarity, definitely clarity will drop the price down, if you can get a good eye clean Si2 but you would need to verify with the vendor... i'll keep searching for some diamonds from other vendors too,, but the color, you can also go down some, even J ACAs can be very white looking so those two alone can open up your carat weight significantly.Date: 5/27/2009 12:35:42 PM

Thanks for the suggestions.
If I was to sacrifice one of the attributes and go a little bigger on carat weight, which one would it be.
She prefers channel setting (no pave or tapered bands), is there anymore in that style that are closer to the Tiffany setting?
Thanks!![]()
You could look at eyeclean SI clarity grades ( GIA or AGS) which have been verified eyeclean to your standards by a trusted vendor who has inspected the diamond. Alternatively unless it is important to you to get a colourless diamond, G colour graded as above will be extremely white and probably indistinguishable to an F colour.Date: 5/27/2009 12:35:42 PM

They aren''t PriceScope vendors, but they are generally considered reputable. You can go to a .90 stone if you go to G VS2 clarity. I can''t tell enough from the info they have posted on their site. That is the disadvantage.Date: 5/29/2009 10:24:12 PM

What do you guys think about this one from Exceldiamonds? Are they as reputable as they seem?

Here''s a .88 H VS1 at $4149, but you can probably find one in the .90 range at G or H VS2 for under $5000.

They can probably source other stones for you that aren''t listed on the site. Just tell them you want ideal cut, .90 cts., and personally, I''d stick with G-H color. You should be able to get that with your budget! Good luck!
Both beauties, but I prefer the .80Date: 6/1/2009 11:41:15 PM

Which of these two diamonds has the higher quality cut? Is the carat size of .80 compared to .88 negligible, or is there a definite size difference to the naked eye? I am leaning towards the .80 stone. Opinions??
.80 ct VS2
.88 ct VS1
Thank you for your response Judah. Barry has been extremely helpful in this matter. I may have just found the best match with Excel...will update soon.Date: 6/2/2009 11:49:56 AM

JAY151, DiamondSeeker,
I just wish to clarify and address an earlier statement (having received permission from the PS admin.), because I have seen reoccurring instances where it is unclear as to the level of information we provide for our listed diamonds.
''I can''t tell enough from the info they have posted on their site. That is the disadvantage.''
While it is true that we don''t show up-front actual data for most of our listed diamonds, we also make it very clear in numerous places on our website, including each individual diamond product page, that we will personally inspect and evaluate any listed diamond on our website on behalf of our customers and all they need to do is ask via the form that appears on every diamond product page......that''s it.
We do not blindly drop-ship any of the diamonds we sell and we have an in-house fully equipped diamond lab, where we evaluate each diamond and generate the actual data for our customers upon request, including actual magnified diamond photos, Ideal Scope results, ASET results, scan of original grading report, Megascope/Sarin analysis and more.
We do not charge for this service.

Jay my boyfriend and I just purchased the Tiffany Legacy Replica from Excel and the ring is beautiful and Judah was very helpful. I have already written them a glowing review and will post it on here as soon as my boyfriend officially gives me the ring ha ha. My boyfriend let me see it when it arrived and it far exceeded my expectations! I would recommend them and good luck!
