This is one of my favorite settings of all time. I was trying to figure out how to describe it to someone who hasn't seen one and it is tough.

Would you call it a tension setting even through it has a basket?

That’s actually the first description I thought of…tension setting with basket. If you called it a hybrid tension setting then you are losing the basket description, less wordy but also less descriptive.

Very unique and pretty - whatever it's called ... lol

haha! yes it's super cool. interesting too b/c it looks best imho with small center stones but since people like big rings these days they've been offering it with larger and larger options.

I have always been drawn to this setting! It's so unique. It does seem to have elements of a tension setting but because of the basket I think technically it's not. I agree it's a hard setting to describe lol!

I don't know how I'd describe it, but I've liked that setting for a long time. Pearl Paradise has sometimes had similar settings.

I've always loved this setting :)

It's not a tension setting.
It does have a tension setting look, but only from in top view.

But in the side view you can see metal between the sides.
This makes it not a tension setting.

The only thing between the sides of a tension setting is the diamond itself.

I’d describe it as a solitaire nestled between two cantilevered, paveéd prongs.
