Hello,

You were all so helpful when I was picking out my engagement ring, I wanted to come get your advice for the wedding ring :) I am looking for a bead set eternity band with alternating pink sapphires and diamonds with a milgrained edge. This one from Tiffany is exactly what I am looking for. The ONLY change I might want is to make it 3/4 eternity to allow for sizing in the future:

Tiffany Ring

I sent in this picture with the specs to Whiteflash for a quote and it''s only $125 less than the original Tiffany piece. While I would love to work with WF again and think they would do a wonderful job, given the difference in price, should I go for the name? I am going to try on the Tiffany piece this weekend just to confirm it''s as perfect as I think it is, but I am really kind of torn

for a $125 difference in price, I''d go with the Tiffany.....

This really says it all to me.

The deciding factor seems to be how important the future sizing capability is to you.

If you decide it's not a dealbreaker, then just buy the Tiff piece because it's exactly what you want.

If you decide it's a large enough investment that you really need the ability to size it through the years and Tiffany cannot offer a sizeable version, then I'd go with WF.

For the price, I would definitely go with Tiffany. Then when people compliment you on your set you can say "Thanks, its from Tiffany!" and you won''t REALLY be lying

For that small of a price difference, I would go with the Tiffany...but does Tiffany custom (making it a 3/4 instead of full eternity)? I did not think that they did

On the face of it I would go for Tiffany & Co; if the only difference is the slight price increase.

Buuuuut,

WF''s knife edge band costs the same as Tiffany & Co (last time I checked), but it seems that the Tiffany one is actually much slimmer and ergo has less plat making the WF one the ''better buy'' in my book. So I bought from WF. I could have had the Tiffany name for the same money but I went with what I say to be better quality.

I too would go with Tiffany since it''s such a small price difference.

Yeah I agree.

I''d ask if T&Co can re size it in the future if need be...if that''s really that important to you. The price is so close there''s really no reason not to get the T&Co if its exactly what you want. Why do you think your ring size is going to change so drastically?

I tend to go up and down in weight a lot, depending on how well behaved I am at the time :)

I don't know, how much do sizes change over a lifetime on average?

it''s not a good idea to keep sizing any ring multiple times. You might be better off buying the band a little big and having a sizing bar or sizing beads put in to help with the ups and downs. some women have been know to go up a half size or size after they have children. I''ve had 2 though and my ring size stayed the same.

My thinking is a little different. I would go with the custom ring from WhiteFlash. My reasoning is that it will be "one of a kind" ring. The ring from Tiffany''s anyone can buy and have the same exact ring. Now, if you may sell it in the future, then buy the Tiffany ring.

Just my 2 cents
