Today, my fiancee noticed in horror that one of her side stones on her Tiffany Novo has fallen out. We don''t know when or where it happened so the stone is gone. It was one of the stones at the very end (furthest away from the main stone).

Before I do anything, does anyone know what my options are? I have a JM policy but I have a $500 deductible and I''m assuming one little side stone is less than $500 although with T&Co., you never know.

Will T&Co. ever replace one of those small stones without charging me? I''m pretty disappointed that for the amount of money I spent on the ring, that a side stone would just fall out like that. It''s on a part of the ring where it would be extremely unlikely to be knocked out from a bang or bump. So I believe it just fell out. I''m not sure if these small side stones are just held in place with an adhesive or if they also have clasps holding them in place. But whatever it is, it was defective.

Before I contact T&Co. or the insurance company, I was hoping to get some feedback on what I should do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would call Tiffany and see what they say.

how long have you had the ring? its most likely held by prongs, those tiny prongs do wear down so it''s preventative measure to get it checked every so often every six months at least. Sorry about this, if you have had your rings for a short time, hopefully Tiffany will take care of you especially like you said the amount of money that was spent.

I bought the ring last summer.

I am pretty sure T & Co will cover the expenses - their customer service has a pretty good reputation and your ring is practically brand new... There is no reason it should have fallen out... I would definitely ask a few T& Co in your area before you pay a dime for THEIR defective ring.

I agree with the above posts! But if they do not take care of the problem, I had a small diamond fall out of my Daussi halo pave e-ring within 72 hours of the proposal. I found out that it''s only about $30 to replace the small diamond. Depending on the size of your stone, i don''t think it''d be as much as your deductable. It can be done by your trusted jeweler. As for me, I took mine to the nearest Daussi vendor and got it replaced for free. Good luck.

Thanks. I''m gonna call the local T&Co. where I bought the ring today. Hopefully they will replace it. Otherwise, I will likely be taking my business elsewhere when I purchase our wedding rings next year.

Just called the store and spoke with the salesperson who sold me the ring. She told me to bring it in as soon as possible and they will get it replaced for us.

Thank god....now my fiancee can breath a sigh of relief.

could be a melee of 1/2 pointer or so shouldn''t cost much to replace those.
