Hey Guys,

I''m new to this forum, so sorry if I don''t adhere to all the forum etiquette. My boyfriend and I are both in our final year of medical school and we were planning to tie the knot next year, but being of Indian descent, the matter immediately was out of our hands once our parents got involved and we just got a call this morning that they plan to get us married in 5 weeks! (Mainly because my dad''s health isn''t doing too awesome). So, now in addition to all the whammies of planning out a wedding we have to have an engagement ring in record time!

We looked around and are most interested in a Tiffany legacy, but the pricing is just killing us...especially since we get most of our jewelry made in India and it is a LOT LOT cheaper there! There just isn''t enough time for that now and so we''ll settle for a replica now - I mean we''re still in school and it doesn''t make sense to waste our parents money - that''s my opinion.

So, after reading through a lot of the forums linked to this topic it seems that Mark at engagement rings direct is the top choice for this! Although Excel Diamonds seems within our budget too... I guess a .5 - .7 cushion center would suffice - is that the best choice for a center? I''m well aware that the Tiffany patented legacy cushion cannot be replicated...

Any thoughts/comments/help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!

The leagcy is stunning and by far my favorite. In my opinion the Legacy is not a ring that can be replicated. I think a huge part of it''s beauty is the center stone. With a different stone it''s merely a ring with a halo. How about going for a smaller size diamond and getting the real thing?

Legacy is a stunner, original or (some) replicas. I created one where we tweaked several elements of the design, but stayed with the inspiration of the Tiffany's original.

I've never said this... but if they want you to get married in 5 weeks, let them get y'all Legacy for the stress of that rush!

Hi GlamDoc and welcome to Pricescope!

If you decide against the real thing, then I am sure Mark at ERD could find you a fabulous cushion with a beautiful setting, he has worked with many happy PSers!

Mark.

Give the vendors your budget and time frame see what they can do. Mark from ERD is known for his beautiful selection of cushions. 5 weeks is not a bad time frame. You won''t have a lot of time to worry and fret over the plans!!! Good luck!

nice ring

Hello All,

Just wanted to update everyone...Due to some email issues, I wasn''t able to get in touch with Mark in time and we ended up getting the legacy from Tiffany... Boy did we spend a pretty buck! They''re working on the ring now, but now we want a 2mm jeff cooper style eternity ring with the spaced out diamonds - or maybe something antique... any suggestions? Don''t want to go more than 2mm...

Thank you everyone for your helpful suggestions and kind wishes!
