I''ve been checking this board for a while educating myself on the diamond. I think I''ve narrowed it down to something in the 2.0 ct H SI1 with EX/EX/EX. Now just trying to find the right one at the right price. Now my problem - my GF loves this ring at Tiffany:

I can''t seem to find anything like it at any of the dealers that are regularly touted on this board. Does anyone here know of one substantially similar to this ring? Can I expect the same clean lines as on the Tiffany''s model? I have shopped on 47th Street (not to buy, just to look) and have seen similar but they always look kind of clunky and cheap compared to the one at Tiffany.

Thanks for your help.

The Tiffany one appears to have rounds and pears as sides? There is one on the Blue Nile site that has one with just the pear sides, if you want to go look. I tried to post a pic, but can''t seem to get it to work. Hope this helps.

I would probably look at the vatche model or have a custom one done by whiteflash or Leon Mege. That''s what I would do!

Leon Mege makes a BEAUTIFUL repro of that...

I also think Mark Morrell could make something like that...it would be stunning.

Thanks for the quick replies. Just to be clear, my GF is looking for a E-Ring with the pear shaped side stones. The one at Blue Nile is as close as I''ve come across but if looked at from the side, the center stone is mounted much higher than the Tiffany''s setting, where the three stones are more on the same plane. Please don''t ask me why this would make a difference to her, but it does

If i were going for that look (which is really beautiful) and wanted something similar but without the Tiff''s premium one of these would tickle my fancy :).

What she said!! If I was in the market, I would totally look into one of those!

The WF version is VERY similar, and I think it addresses the problem you are concerned with in terms of how the stones sit relative to one another.

The Vatche one is also a good one to look at - their three-stone with pear sides is REALLY similar to the Tiffany one.

I''d go with Leon or Whiteflash. Leon''s is a little more artistic, which I like, but the WF is almost exact to the Tiffany. there are certain styles that are public domain so to speak and copyright doesn''t apply the same way. I think this style 3 stone falls into that catagory.

Ditto Mrs.S, Leon''s and WF make a classic looking rb w/pear sidestones.

Whiteflash recently made a version with Tsav sides for a PSer.

That''s my ring there in the pictures. My girlfriend liked that exact same ring from Tiffany''s that you speak of, so I asked WF to custom make it for me. I can tell you that in person the ring is just as beautiful as the pictures above, and on the Tiffany''s website. It''s perfect! I would highly recommend going with WF....they''ll do a fantastic job.

The WF''s version is the best I''ve seen as far as coming close to the Tiff''s setting. My ering is from Tiff''s see avatar. Leon does a great version as well. Best of luck to you!!!

Thanks everybody, and the WF ring with the side pears IS beautiful and quite tasteful. Now to change the topic a bit: My GF is a 5.5 ring size. Quite hilariously, the Tiffany salesman said that she''s got big knuckles which will require a big diamond. Originally we were thinking a 1.7ct diamond but we then went back to Tiffany and checked out the setting with a 2 ct stone. To my eyes, the whole thing - 2ct diamond with the pear side stones is way too big and gaudy looking. Of course my GF is dazzled by the larger diamond and convinced that it''s the right size for her "huge" knuckles.

I from the start thought that we would get a solitaire, which I consider to be more subtle and tasteful. I thought that the 1.7ct was already pushing to the edge of gaudiness, but now, at 2.0 cts is way over the top. What do you all think of this choice? I know it''s all subjective but do you think that a 2ct with pear sidestones might be too much for a 5.5 finger?

I don''t know if I would think it is too much, but then again I never though knuckles determined diamond size either

. Here is KristyDarling''s beautiful LM 3 stone with a 3.56ct center and pear sides on a size 3.5 finger which I think looks AMAZING and totally rocking :) https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/kristydarlings-3-stone-by-leon-mege.44363/.

The question is would a 2ct with pear sidestones sit comfortably in your guys budget, sometimes it is easy to get a little diamond struck and get carried away. My FF like you has a different perception of what looks BIG on my finger then what I do (he likes smaller and I like larger no surprises there

), in the end we reached a compromise on size and got something we were both happy with :).

I think a 1.7 or 2 carat stone with pear sides would be awesome on a 5.5 finger. not gaudy or tacky at all. I actually prefer the pear side settings when the center stones are larger.
