Hello everyone!

For Mother''s day my DH gave me the Tiffany Alphabet with diamonds. It''s the one below.

http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/item.aspx?sku=GRP03327&mcat=148204&search_params=s+5-p+1-c+288157-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t&cid=288157&selectedsku=26032067&fromgrid=1

He gave me the initial "J" because my daughter''s name starts with J! Well, he told me that I could change it for something else if I wanted to. I am not thrilled with the length chain and I am going to change it if I choose to keep it. But I feel bad because I could get something else that is more better, quality wise, than a sterling silver pendant with diamonds. I was wondering these two other choices from Whiteflash. I feel bad but he says that it doesn''t matter as long as I am happy. I plan to give this pendant to my daughter when she gets older.

I am thinking these two choices from WF. It would have to be the same amount of $ that the Tiffany one is. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Oops! I think that I might''ve posted in the wrong section. Whatever! Answer if you like! Thanks!

I love the second one, I bet it sparkles like crazy.

What a sweetie your husband is! That is totally the right way to do gift-giving: with a thoughtful awareness at *both* ends of the process, both in picking out the gift, and in being okay if it is exchanged.

Of the three choices you post, I would vote for the 3-leaf pendant: I think it''s an elegantly beautiful piece that''s not run of the mill. I look forward to seeing what you''ll choose!

P.S. - Are you open to other suggestions? Or is this more of a poll?

Thank you guys for your input! I am defintely open to other suggestions as well! I used to be a Tiffany lover but after joining PS, I have opened up my mind to other options!

I really like the second one, it looks like a sparkly flower!

I've been a PS member for a long time and still like Tiffany & Co. even though they're overpriced! lol That J pendant is VERY elegant. . .I like it!

Of the two whiteflash ones, the flower design is more appealing to me than the clover.

I prefer the flower WF pendant

I like both of the WF designs but prefer the flower a little more. It reminds me of a snowflake, and I love snowflakes!

oddly, i prefer the "j" as 1-it was a Mothers'' Day gift and if not for your daughter, you wouldn''t have gotten a present. i also think it might be nice to gift it to her when she''s older and then buy yourself another present.

movie-I was thinking the same thing, that''s why I felt bad!

personally, i''m not smitten with the two alternative choices you posted........too generic for my taste. however, its not for me.

i''d get a shorter chain, keep the "j", and when my daughter is old enough to appreciate it, i''d tell her the story of how daddy wanted to do something special for me and now i want to do something special for her by giving it to her.

in the meantime, i''d be saving to get myself the pendant i want......

ps the "j" has more "personality" to me.......and the sentiment behind it would matter to me. i will also note that my husband does not buy me jewelry nor do i want him to.......i prefer picking out my own pieces, sometimes with him present and giving input.

<------- Here''s my five-petal WF flower pendant, which DH got me for Christmas last year. I wear it all the time and I love it! So, obviously, I''m voting for the three-petal WF pendant.

I'd keep the "J" too. I think it's lovely and it's got a sweet story behind it.

I actually like the tiffany pendant as I think it''s a cool gift and would have loved if my husband surprised me with the same pendant but with the letter K (all my girls have the letter K in their first names). Plus, I have always admired that pendant and since my husband doesn''t buy me any jewelery without my input, not only would I have been pleasantly surprised, but flattered that he would actually go and purchase something so thoughtful.

As far as quality wise, I would say that Tiffany quality is second to none, so if the quality of the pendant is what bothers you, I wouldn''t really worry about it as their pieces are pretty much perfect.

But, your the one that has to love it, so I would probably get the second pendant that you posted with the three leaf clover given the other two choices.

It sounds to me that you don''t love any of the three you posted though and might just be settling for something, rather than nothing, so maybe wait a while until you have a slightly higher budget or find something that really inspires you!

Have you looked at Roberto Coin pendants? They are fanastic sparkly little pieces as well, but a little pricey, but certain dealers do give discounts on them, like Toppers and Badler.

butterfly-It''s funny that you mention the "K" initial. When my DH ordered the pendant he got the "K" instead of the "J" he got upset cuz he wanted it for mother''s day but got the wrong initial! lol...I think that I will stay with the J pendant. I felt bad from the start to try to change it. Thanks for your input!

Thank you ladies for your input, I will keep the J pendant! I am going to get the chain a little bit longer and will post pics here!

i think you''ve made the decision easiest to live with....i also think the "j" pendant is striking and more attractive than the other two. looking forward to pictures!

I think you absolutely made the right decision. Not only do I prefer the J pendant, but I think it has beautiful sentiment behind it. I have the same pendant with my initial (minus the diamonds), and I love how simple and elegant it looks.

I''m glad you''re keeping the "J!" I wanted the "A" for myself, but the lowercase A just was not my favorite!

I think the J is lovely and will be special for you and Jacky!

thank you guys! hehe! I am going with my sis in law to have the chain fixed. They said that it will cost $35 to make it longer!

So, I have to take it in. It came with a 16" chain but I don''t feel comfortable with it being that short, I feel like I am choking! So, I am getting it at a 20".

Irish-NYYYYCCEEE! I luff it!

monkey-He had originally got that one but they were sold out! He decided to get the three diamonds to represent me, bebe and him! Now, I feel bad that I thought about changing it! I am just afraid that the tiny diamonds are going to fall out, not that anyone will notice cuz they are tiny!

Amber-I think the a is very cute! Before I had my DD I was checking out the M but I didn''t like it, it looks like the end of a pitchfork! bleh...

Ya know, I''m kinda glad you decided to keep the J pendant. I do like it . . . it''s very pretty and not something you see every day! It was a very sweet gesture for your DH to get it for you, and even if you don''t 100% love it, it will definitely have a LOT of sentimental value for you over the years!

I''m so glad you decided to keep it. I didn''t want to comment before, but this seems like the right thing to do in this case. Plus, to be perfectly honest, I prefer the Tiffany to the other 2 choices you had up.

Thanks guys! I went to Tiffanys to change the chain. I went up to a 20". They are sending it to New Jersey and I will be getting it on June 4th! Yay! Can''t wait to wear it!

I think you made a great choice! I''m buying my first initial pendant, myself. These are so pretty and flowy [new word] that they look really pretty on the neck.
