Hello everyone!
Me and my girlfriend are currently looking for an engagement ring and we have been absorbing a lot of information on pricescope's forum. Thanks everyone for bringing forth such a great community!
With the help of a gemologist from whiteflash, we have picked a fabulous stone within our expectation. 1.11ct H VS2, expert selection. Now when it comes to the setting, we would like a 6-prong solitaire, and WF provides two choices, a tiffany replica like this:

and a more conventional one like this:
http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/6-prong-tiffany-style-solitaire-engagement-ring-582.htm
As you might observe from the URLs both of them are marked as "tiffany-style" but they look vastly different, at least from the side, and the former one (I'll call it tiffany replica) resembles the one on tiffany's website more than the latter (I'll call it "conventional one"). The 14K conventional one fits our budget, but we would like the design of the tiffany replica. However the tiffany replica only comes in 18K white gold, and is more than twice of the 14K traditional 6-Prong setting. I asked the gemologist from WF and he told me they can make a 14K tiffany replica for nearly the same price of the 18K, which defeats the purpose of choosing 14K economy-wise.
Our original plan is to put as much as possible toward the stone rather than the setting. I know there are plenty of you that got the tiffany replica from whiteflash, but does it worth twice the money as the conventional 6-Prong? Do you think it is a good idea to try the traditional setting first, and then upgrade the setting later?
Any feedback would be appreciated, thank you all!
Also just out of curiosity, how does the WF tiffany replica stand compared to the following JamesAllen 6-Prong setting? Judging from price, I would guess the JA 6-prong is similar to WF's traditional 6-prong.
