So I bought a Tiffany platinum 6-prong classic engagement ring replica. It''s from a reputable dealer. Going to have the diamond set in it. Everything is perfect except for one thing -- the two opposite-facing prongs on the side (looking through the circle of the ring) are not completely vertical.
I''m a perfectionist and don''t want a replica that could be posted with pictures on the Tiffany website as a "bad replica".
Can a decent platinumsmith bend the prongs ever so slightly to make them completely vertical? Is this a difficult fix? Is this typical to fix while setting a stone?
Or should I take this up with the dealer who sold me the setting??
Thanks so much for your help!
