I''m lookin at these three different stones one from James Allen, Infinity, and GOG, and I would love some input from you guys.

I was leaning toward the James Allen one...or should I just wait for a better GoG to come along..?

Thanks so much!

They all look good, I like the Infinity best, the JA diamond also looks good but it is best to have hearts images in order to properly evaluate a h&a diamond and they don't supply them to the best of my knowledge. But it does look like a lovely stone.

IS for James Allen

IS for Infinity

IS for gog

OK, I''d be wary of the very strong blue fluorescence of the High Performance diamond.

You''re right, the GOG stone doesn''t quite hit the mark with its crown and pavilion angles, only scoring 2.9 on the HCA. By default that leaves the JA stone, which looks good and is well priced.

Is the 1.35 F VS1 at GOG out of your budget?

Is it just me or do the arrows for the infinity look crooked....does it make a difference..?

The stone was tilted slightly when the image was taken, nothing to worry about.

EDT: I wouldn't discount the GOG stone on the basis of angles and HCA. Those are used to try and predict how a stone will perform. The ASET image shows the reality of how it actually performs, and so trumps the prediction. The ASET here is very nice. All three are very well cut

That said, I do prefer the other two slightly, with the HPD having the edge. Keep in mind that this is all splitting hairs, as all three diamonds are easily in the top 1% of diamonds sold. I'd base the decision on which vendor you feel comfortable working with and has a setting you like.

I think the diamond is tilted slightly which happens sometimes, Wink the vendor would be able to tell you more. No worries on the fluorescence, it wouldn't be an Infinity if the fluorescence had a negative effect on it. You might notice the bluish tint in some lights, would that bother you?

Wow! thanks for the quick reply...the 1.35 GOG "Tolk" looks great as well but is it really worth the $3000 premium over the James Allen?

I think that the Infinity would of been my first choice if it hadn''t been for the "very strong blue" flou. Wouldn''t that take away from the "white" look of the stone?

Nope. You will only notice the fluoro when UV light is present. In bright direct sunlight, you might see a bluish tinge, or if you put it under a blacklight, it will glow blue, which is pretty cool actually. Some people, including many on PS, like the effect of fluorescence and others don't. It is very much a personal choice with no wrong answer. Either way, it will not affect the whiteness of the diamond.

EDT: Here is the link to the PS tutorial that talks about fluoro

It can even help a diamond face up a little whiter according to some experts.

Ok, it''s early, and I''m only on my first cup of coffee, but I see a price difference of 127.00 between the JA and GOG stones. Am I missing something?

The GOG is a true hearts and arrow. JA "claims" their''s are, but don''t/won''t show heart pics, so we''re not comparing apples to apples here. At this point, my money would be on the GOG being a better cut, albeit slightly deep. If you are interested in it the GOG stone, you could always have Jon do a video.

I'm thinking the $3000 premium referred to this diamond that phoenixgirl mentioned in passing, but didn't link.
