three stones or halo setting?

I am thinking to change my current Solitaire setting to a three stones setting with peal sidestones or a cushion halo frame.
My stone is 1ct round and my size is 4.75.
I love them both, can't decide which would be better for me. What do you think? any opinions or handshot images will be very weclomed.

I'd prefer the three stone as well for its classic slim lines. RB and pears together look so elegant. I love halos too, but there's something about a 3 stone at pulls me in every time! The fun part will be reviewing the SMTB thread for ideas...

I am biased of course because I have a three stone ring. We have seen some beautiful halos here and I can't really judge them because I've never owned one. I just like the simplicity of diamonds and polished metal. I do think it is more of a classic and timeless look and because I am such a cleaning freak, I know I'd end up eventually losing pave stones. I've been known to ruin things trying to clean them!

It's a tough call to make though because they are two completely different looks. Maybe you can go to a jewler and find these two types of rings to try on to see which you prefer on your hand.

Another vote for three-stone, love RBs and pears. Halos have become too trendy for my taste for a diamond center stone (though I'm still partial to a diamond halo for a colored stone).

I'd suggest trying both styles on and seeing which one you prefer. I was thinking about resetting my solitaire into a three-stone, then tried some one and realized they looked awful on my hand, especially with the wedding band. Halos, on the other hand, looked great and I never even used to be a fan of halos.

If you are wanting to increase the size, a halo will make your center stone look larger than the 3 stone. So I vote HALO all the way!
