I am wanting to reset my 1.43ct (7.3mm) J from my current halo setting into a three stone.

My dilemma is, what colour do I go with? It faces up white most of the time, in certain lighting I do see a tint but I’m just not sure I’ll be able to match that tint.

Do I go with J’s? Which I’m finding hard to find or??

I think I’ll be going with 5mm or 5.5mm sides.

thanks :)

In my experience, labs tends to look warmer than what they're usually graded. I would be a little wary of going lower than a J, because if you go for a K it might look more like a M. I think labs tend to have more variance in color (depending on the lab that grades them or if they're graded in house). But I guess it depends on if you want them all to look pretty equal, or if you don't mind the sides being warmer than the center stone. :)

My center stone is a mined diamond GIA graded H, and I used a pair of F/G lab grown IGI graded studs and the color is indistinguishable. As mentioned above, I think lab grown stones are a tad warmer than they are graded, so If you center is a J, you should probably go for H-I lab sides.

Thanks everyone! I actually think my J faces up quite white but perhaps I am not very colour sensitive. I was definitely not going to go lower, I’m concerned about the new stones showing tint which I don’t really want.

I’ve worked with starsgem numerous times so I was thinking of working with them again but they only have DEF stones at the moment. I am thinking they will be too contrasting.
Here are some pictures of my LG for reference.

Also, I have never seen anyone do this so it’s probably not a good idea lol but moissy side stones? Would they look wildly different?

I love your ring! Can you share the sizes of your diamonds?

0.5ct/1.81ct/0.5ct

The 2 side stones are James Allen pre-set F/G 1ctw studs, so didn't come with certs. The weights are just approximates, I didn't have them actually weighed.

Ah, tried to edit my first post in this thread....my side stones are NOT IGI certed, they were uncerted preset studs! The ones I hand picked and wear in my ears (1.66ct) total weight are IGI certed.
