I am in the process of buying a three-stone e-ring for someone with a 3.75-4 finger size and am concerned about buying too large of a center diamond. I want to use Round-Brilliants as the stones and like the 1:3:1 proportioning for the sides. For the setting, I will probably go with something like WF's standard 3-stone setting.
Originally I was looking at center stones in the 1.35-1.45 ct range, but now I am questioning if those would be too large. Any thoughts? I don't want the stones to sit very proud on the ring, I don't want excessive overlap of the center stone with the sides, and I don't want the side stones to be pointing excessively off the vertical axis (I realize I am not defining what is excessive here, but at least you get an idea of my concerns). Baiscally I am worried there won't be enough room on her finger and/or that the setting and band (for larger stones) will not scale well when reduced to her finger size.
Does anyone have any thoughts here on a good size center stone (with the sides each 1/3 the weight of the center) for a 3-stone ring on a finger size of 3.75-4? Pics are always welcomed.
Thanks
