Hello!
I have been searching on and off over the past six months for an engagement ring.
I've also been reading the plethora of information on this site and I'd love to get your opinion.
I've narrowed the search down to these three rings...

Here are the three engagement ring choices.

A. Trellis with RB's .7ct center with .5cttw sides
B. Trellis with Princess's .7ct center with .5cttw sides
C. D.Vatche Pear sides with RB center .7ct center with .3cttw sides

Thank you!

I picked C , but the more I look the more I like the other two for being thinner looking around the band. Thinner is my personal prefrence.

ok, i just wanted to chime in, and ask you what your stone shape preference is? I love both Rounds and princess cut, For a solitaire I definitely prefer RBs, but for a three stone, I love the Princess trellis... So my Vote goes for the Princess Trellis, I've seen some Princess three stone, and think they look beautiful.. Side profile of A and B is just Gorgeous!

I wanted to vote twice! I like A a lot. But, I picked C because pears are more unusual and I''m starting to really, really like them. I would like it even better if it had a thinner band. The thing with pears is that the setting has to be right or else there is too much metal showing IMO.

What shape does she prefer? A RB girl is not going to be happy with a princess and vice versa... It''s really hard to decide which to buy based onthe opinions of a bunch of strangers because when the rings are all different shaped diamonds, we''re all going to vote for our personal favourite. Please find out what she likes and save yourself some of the heartache that others have recently endured!

Upgrade asked the same question I had, which is what shape does she prefer? I really love the trellis-styles settings for either the RB or the princess. I love the RB with pear sides as well, but it just really depends upon her preferences.

I love A but like others have said, try and find out if she''s a RB fan or does she prefer Princess.

Thank you for the opinions!
It''s going to be a serious mission to find out what cut stone she likes.
She has no clue I''m going to propose. We rarely talk about marriage, and when we do, I usually change the subject:) That makes me all the more eager to surprise her. She doesn''t own any other diamond jewelry I can use as reference

Any mention of rings or jewelry and the gig is probably up and totally out of character for me. My gut and heart say to surprise her, my brain says to just let her pick out a ring. I''m going with my heart, just don''t want to buy an ugly ring!

I''m testing the waters with this poll. Making sure I don''t pick out an ugly ring, and not realize it.

You know her personality the best. The rest of us can only guess. One option which may or may not work is to surprise her with a placeholder ring then choose together or if it is super important for you to pick the stone you could surprise her with a center stone perhaps in a plain inexpensive setting and then pick the more forever setting for the diamond together.

Some ladies like a total surprise and to have the guy pick himself and other ladies love the romance of ring shopping together. It all depends. You never know she might have an exact ring style she has been dreaming of.

I usually favor surprise rings being a round solitaire in a simple, inexpensive setting so that she can at least have input on the permanent set. I just wouldn't do any other shape unless you knew she had another preference. But I voted for A, because I think it will look best with that size center stone.

Number 1, it''s swoopy, pretty, lovely proportions, and nothing sparkles like a well-cut round brilliant...except three of course LOL.

I think RB''s are a safer bet and often they look more "classic." If she''s rather traditional, I''d go that route. If she tends towards super modern clean lines, she may prefer a princess. The last choice would be if she has more unique tastes. That is just my take from glancing at the rings, it depends so much on personal taste and personality. You could always feel her out for her opinion by talking about some "friend" who got his girl a ring she didn''t like ;).

Even when guys have discussions with their future fiance's they can end up getting it wrong. Sorry, but that't just the fact of the matter.

If she has a mother or a sister or a best friend you can trust can you have them take her to barnes and noble and just for fun look through bridal magazines, those things are littered with pictures of rings. Or to go with her to a jewelry store, just for fun to try things on. Please do a little sleuthing, it will pay off. If you don't know even the basics... like round or square, well just a little bit more time might be a good idea.

Well even though she doesn''t have any diamond jewlery you can go off of, what is her style? You should have a general idea of what her tastes are. If she''s more traditional and classy I would go with the RB for sure. If she tends to be more trendy and different I''d go with the Princess cut.
