Sorry but jumping on this bandwagon but I also could do with your expert help.
I am preferably looking for the following:
Min:Carat: 0.8
Colour: F
Clarity: VS1
Cut: Brilliant Round (although open to other suggestions?)
Preferably want:
Carat: >1
Colour: D-E
Clarity: IF-VVS1
GIA Certificate
Although my budget is about £4000 ($6500-7000) so not sure if this is possible with my 'preferable' option?
Also at a last resort I am also considering going down the 'second-hand' route for the diamond and having it set in a different ring. Where would be the best place for this? Hopefully I don't have to go down this route though.
Lastly should much attention be paid to 'symmetry' 'polish' and 'fluorescence'? Is having some sort of fluorescene a good or bad thing?
Thanks for all your help!
Heres a lovely diamond which could suit you perfectly, check it is eyeclean and that the cloud inclusion isn't impacting brilliance ( highly unlikely in a hand selected stone).Date: 1/1/2010 6:42:11 PM

Thanks everyone so much!
I have a budget of about 6-7k. I am looking for a tiffany 6 prong setting and hopefully a diamond above 1 carat-round brilliant. i dont mind sacrificing on color and clarity (as long as it is eyeclean.)
I guess a color H or I does not bother me, i would rather have a larger stone than perfectly white. I also think carat size is more important than it being clear, so an eyeclean SI1 or SI2 is fine.
Any thoughts? Any specific diamonds would also be a big help!!!!
