Hi all, I''ve been lurking around these forums for a while now and learned a whole bunch from all of you. I''m in the final phases of selecting an e-ring for my gf and would like some opinions on this one I''ve selected.

GIA cert round brilliant
1.55carat G/VS2 $14,700
7.42x7.45x4.57
table 56%, depth 61.5, 35 crown angle, 40.6 pav angle, EX symmetry/polish, med girdle
HCA score within the recommended <2 range

Thoughts? Thanks in advance :)

Welcome!

It looks promising! Do you have an Idealscope image available? It should be a very nice diamond, but an IS is always good to confirm! Is it with an online vendor?

Looks good so far! Any chance of extra info, like IS pic, Sarin, etc?

Sorry to repeat, must not dilly dally around here.

I found this diamond on bluenile. I don''t think they provide sarin and/or idealscope photos. Does anybody know/had experience with actually obtaining these validating tests with bluenile?

Ok if it is from BN, I don''t think they generally offer IS images. But they do have a 30 day return policy so you could examine the diamond.

No, BN won''t give you any more info. But I think it''s worth bringing home for a look, since they have a very good return policy. Just be sure to have an independant appraiser check it out for the "ok".

Thanks for the info!

Here goes nothing.......... :)

Good luck! By the numbers it should be a lovely stone!

Let us know how it turns out!

And you''re welcome.

I''ve received the stone and have had an IA done on the loose stone. I thought I''d share the findings and provide a little more detail on the #s to get more feedback.

OGI Megascope:
1.55Ct/7.42 x 7.45 x 4.57mm
crown angle 35.3 deg
crown height 15.7%
pav angle 40.5 deg
pav depth 42.4%
culet 0.4%
table size 56.2%
total depth 61.4%
girdle thickness 1.8% (1.4-2.3%) (sl. thick)
star/upper 49.1:50.9%

I was also able to view the diamond with an IdealScope and it looked excellent IMO; ASET had its fair share of red and blue, with sprinkle of green all around the outer edges. Not so much under the H&A scope. According to AGA''s rating system, the stone is rated 1B.

I''ve also decided to go with the tacori 2620 setting to accompany the center stone, and now I''ll hurry up and wait for the 4 agonizing weeks to come up with an appropriate proposal.
