in the meantime, what do u guys/gals think?

is medium or thin to medium a concern?

btw, i'm going from 1.06C to 1.46C, noticeable difference?
It is facing up a bit small and also I can see leakage even in the photo, I will try to see what else is out there from JA for you.

I would much rather have this one

LOL! I try, been doing this for years! I will have a look at the pic again and try to describe what I am seeing.

Ok, click on real diamond image upper right of the page. The photo will then show. Look just outside the table of the diamond ( the largest uppermost facet of the stone), you will see a dark ring running around the outside of the diamond's table. This is what we call ' The Ring of Death" which is a PS term for a dark ring of light leakage around the table. What this is in this case is probably due to the steep pavilion angle causing light to escape from the diamond, where it should be reflected back and hitting you in the eye, or in this case your GF's eye! If the crown angle was shallower as a counterbalance to the steep pavilion it might be better however a 41.4 pavilion angle is generally undesirable anyway. Try to keep pavilions to around 40.6 - 41 in the first instance, although there are other angle combos which might work for the most part you should be safe with the above pavilion angle range.

Really I can see enough from the photo to say personally I wouldn't waste one of your 3 IS images on this one, but its up to you.

lorelei, much thanks. ring of death eh? ok, i''ll try to educated myself through this forum and look at the actual real diamond photo more carefully .......now that i''m equipped with a partiallly-trained eye.

you are the man!! ooops, i meant woman!
