Unfortunately, the clarity plot showing the feathers is not being shown, although I can see some in the video. I would not buy an SI2 with primary feather (crack) inclusions. They may or may not result in durability issues, but I would not be comfortable with it.

Looks nice. Assuming its eye clean i would do it. I like the fat arrows and small table. I am one to not worry so much about feathers if via headed the stone above an I.

Also try to google "pricescope feather crack" and find some threads about it. John Pollard posted something interestinf about the idea here, but I am sure there is more.

If i end up purchasing the stone, an independent appraiser could tell me if it will have integrity issues, right?

I think I found the article you were referring to niel, thank you.

I'm gonna see if I can get the full gia report from JA, if I'm successful, I'll post it for opinions

Just spoke to JA. They said a plotting of inclusions is not typically requested in stones under a carat. They said that they would not sell me a stone that was structurally unsound, but that I could always get it plotted by gia myself if I would like (a ridiculous suggestion, since by the time I would get the results, id be out of the return window). They said if by chance I had any issues down the road, that's what insurance is for.

I'd hadn't really been considering insuring the stone, from what I've seen, it doesn't really make sense to insure a $1500 stone. I'm going to look into the cost of doing so, but what are everyone's thoughts on insuring such an inexpensive stone in general?

Good numbers, I would be ok with this stone if my budget was limited and I was trying to maximize size.
