Hello All,

I was wondering what your thoughts were on this stone;

http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/4074/

We like the sleek lines legato setting that WF do, and it would be a 4.5 size.
We are buying from the UK, so the WF / GOG combination seems safe to me. I haven''t heard so much about other vendors, so think I would limit our diamond search to these sites.

The budget is about $6000 for the stone.
I don''t have much care for "mindclean" as long as it were eyeclean when I look at it up close, so would go for SI1-2 if required.

I am pretty new to this, and the B&M places we went to at home weren''t too impressive compared to the things I have checked out online. Your thoughts are appreciated!

Thats a great diamond! You could certainly drop the clarity if you so desired as long as you work with a trusted vendor, but VS2 should be fine and generally eyeclean.

Thanks Lorelei, I hoped you''d give your opinion!

Hello!
This looks like a very nice diamond, good choice.
I think this was one of the ones I considered when getting mine from GOG

Just a word though on the WF/GOG combo, as this was exactly what I did working from o/seas like yourself. Unfortunately, WF will not cover your diamond during the setting process.

I found, not being there, it was impossible to get insurance for this..
If you really want that setting and can't find anything at GOG, you can go ahead as I did without insurance.
My stone was an SI1, so in theory it would have "more" of a risk than a VS2. In my situation, I was confident in WF's abilities and of course everything went 150% perfect, but because of the inherent risk I don't think I would recommend it..

I found the closest thing to the sleek lines that GOG carry is the Vatche Caroline, I will try to find a pic for you.

I'm sorry to put a dampener on your plans,

please post with any more questions!

Hi Arjunajane,
Thanks, that''s good to know.
The Vatche Caroline is nice, but I am really am smitten by the WF setting unfortunately!
It certainly is a risk having it uninsured whilst at WF. I''ll need to check with them about insuring it during posting as well.
Not a dampener though - forewarned is forearmed!!

No worries!
Ha, you are exactly the same as me - same setting and all!

Have you considered a diamond from WF? They are just as good as GOG, and their service really is top notch..
That would solve the slight problem..

Let us know if you have any luck with the ins. question, as when I did mine a month or so ago nothing could be done

Don''t forget VAT...

That stone looks really great, but I second the idea of getting the stone and setting from the same place. How about this gorgeous 1.125/H/SI2 from WF? Ask if it''s eyeclean, but I can''t even see the SI2 inclusions in the 40x pic!
