Thoughts on this ''I'' diamond

Personally, I wouldn''t worry about it being an "I" at all. You might be more or less color sensitive, though. Have you been into a local store to see some stones of different color grades? Of course, if you see an average cut "I" in your local store, it won''t look as white as that stone from WF. It looks like a beauty, BTW!

Looks like a beautiful stone to me!

Have you looked at color grades at stores before? i would only look at ideal cut diamonds. That helped me a lot. side by side, I could see differences, or nuances in color, but individually I could not tell. It wasn''t worth X thousand more for the difference to me.

good old gold has a nice tutorial on color if you havent been out to look at ideal diamonds before!

I haven''t been to a jeweler and looked at diamonds side by side, but I have been to GOG and read their info. The setting my girl has picked out is a 18kw prong set with 4 diamonds on each side. They are listed as G-H diamonds. Will there be a noticeable difference in the colors?

Thanks for the feedback.

I think that should be fine! I have a J and it is not even slightly yellow. it is blazingly white.

Good luck and make sure you post pictures when you get it :) we love pictures here.

I don''t know if it makes a diff, but WF does have two other "I" stones almost the exact same ct. size, but VS2. Could save you about $700 if you''d go down one clarity grade, and probably won''t notice a thing.

Good ideas in these posts.

Just got back from vacation. Went to Diamond Brokers of Florida and looked at an I colored stone. I was very surprised. It was not yellow at all. I currently have a G stone. While I could see a differance it wasn''t "OH my look at that Yellow!"

I''d say go for the I

An I colour is where the industry believes that the untrained eye can begin to detect a hint of colour, but an I in a properly graded and superb cut diamond will still look very white indeed. Personally, I wouldn't worry about the I, this diamond has too much going for it, unless you happen to be an ultra colour sentitive soul and not many are, it will look white and I am sure you will be delighted! MUST HAVE PICS! Also the side stones should be fine - no worries.

The I stones face up plenty colorless. The only time you may see a sliiiiiiiiiight tinge of warmth is in the side view.

I agree. From what I have read on here RB hide their color better than step cuts. My EC is an "I" and it is VERY white. In certain lighting, at certain angles I can see a light yellow.
