I've put it on hold and will talk with them tomorrow when they open again. Just wanting to get the PriceScope consensus on this Chunky piece of carbon. My only concerns are the color (I was hoping to stay more about "I") and the gridle, which is listed as "very thin" in places.

All you OMC lovers out there let me know what you think!

I think it is gorgeous. The warmer colors just seem to work well with this cutting style, so I personally wouldn''t be bothered by it being a K. Have you checked out the threads from the others that have purchased these to see what you think?

With the girdle, ask Jon. It is very possible that the very thin is just one tiny spot and isn''t an issue.

Ditto! I seriously want one of these stones!

You beat me to it! I''ve been looking at the 2ct L, and then I saw this one come available... Anyhow, I would get it cause if you don''t, I probably will.

Thanks for your feedbacks. I will definitely be on the phone in the a.m. to GOG to get more details on the color, girdle, etc. I watched several of the videos with my gf looking at color, especially this one:

http://vimeo.com/4495973

She commented that she really couldn''t tell the difference face up, and only from the side when there were other stones next to each other. She''s looked at lots of her friends stones and never noticed any color, so she thinks anything I pick will be ok. She doesn''t know I''m getting this stone or anything specific, although we did look at the photo of it online and she thought it was gorgeous. I have tried to limit her exposure to pricescope, etc, although the other day she did mention that one of her friends told her about BlueNile and I just said- "pay no attention to that!!"

I know there is a lot of interest in these stones which is why I went ahead and held this one. chzman I''ll let you know if I end up sending it back so you can look for it.

Talked with Sarah today, and everything is good to go. I''m having it shipped to me, and then I''ll have it set locally.

A question about the setting for those of you with OMCs: Since this stone is slightly rectangular (7.28x7.62) what direction do most folks put the diamond? Long side across the finger or along the finger? It will be set in a simple Tiffany style 4 prong setting.

How exciting! It looks like a beautiful OMC. Please post pictures!!! Regarding the E/W (horizontal) or N/S (vertical) setting, it''s very much a personal preference. I prefer a N/S setting on my hand and find it more classical and flattering for me, but I''ve loved some of the E/W settings I''ve seen on other Pricescopers'' cushions. If you''re keeping this a surprise, I''d say it''d be safer to go with a N/S setting unless you think her style sense would dictate otherwise.

Yes, it will be a surprise! And I will be posting photos for you all!

Here it is:

Nice! Love the fire. :) So what do you think of it so far?

I like it as do the few people I have shown it to (including the appraiser who commented on it's uniqueness.) Now I jsut have to find a setting. I like the WF Legato, but unfortunately they don't sell just the setting (nor Chunky OMCs!) More eye candy... (no idea why there are two)

If you send them the stone they won''t set it in a Legato for you?????????????????????????????????????????
I would call them.

Great choice!!!

these stones are a perfect example of how warmer stones can be jaw dropping.
Me, personally I wouldn''t want any of these stones higher then an I (I''m drooling over a particular L I must say).

that''s just me tho.

Hmmm, hadn''t thought about that. I just saw the thing on their web site that says: "this setting can only be purchased with a diamond(s)" and assumed it meant from them...

I''m taking suggestions on simple solitaire settings in plat if anyone has ideas
