Hello,

Its time to ask the big question to my girlfriend. I didn't know anything about diamonds when I started my search. I've been lurking on these forums for the last month and have learned alot. I found a diamond that I am really considering pulling the trigger on. I would like any of your thoughts on it and any recommendations. My budget for a stone is 5k this one is a little over , but this stone scored a 1.1 on the HCA advisor. I spoke with someone at james allen today. They pulled the Diamond from the site to take some Ideal scope images for me. I post them here once they are sent to me. So let me know what you think.

Thanks for any help provided, I really appreciate it.

Hi, how much is the diamond? most people on here wouldn't go for it because it is a 60/60 diamond. Table and depth both at/around the 60 mark. It's just a slightly different look to what most people on here like, myself included. Other than that the images JA are going to get for you should help. What sort of timescale are you working to?

Thanks for the info. They have it priced at $5400. Timescale wise, I want to propose before xmas. Fyi I plan on getting a cushion halo setting for her.

Just got the Ideal scope,This is what the rep sent along with the image

"Thank you for your patience in waiting for the gemologist inspection and Idealscope image for diamond 378813, the 0.91ct H/VS1 ($5420). I am pleased to inform you that this diamond is PACKED with fire! This diamond faces up with with an excellent level of brilliance and light performance. The Ideal cut proportions make it very bright and lively. Additionally it is faces up closer to a 0.95ct and is eye clean.

I hope this information has helped! I have attached the Idealscope image for you as well as extended the hold an additional 24 hours while you decide. When you are ready to finalize simply contact our offices to get the process started. If you have any questions regarding the diamond or Idealscope I am happy to answer those as well. Thank you for choosing James Allen and we cannot wait for you to see the diamond in person!

Warmest Regards,

Lorraine"

So what are your thoughts on this stone? To my eye it looks like a good stone. But I don't have the knowledge that you all have. Should I pull the trigger.

Thanks

I think you could do better, for the amount that you're paying (5k). Not that it's a bad performing diamond, but you can get better bang for your buck. I got a .95 carat for 4k and the only difference was it is "I" color. What's the most important to you out of the 4 C's?

To me the most important of the 4c's is Cut. I want a Diamond that sparkles and is eye catching. I didnt want to go higher in color cause all the side stone on the setting will be a G/H color.

This is the setting I plan on using
