Hi

I just wanted some thoughts on this diamond.

There are no online pictures but I have seen it in the flesh today. There is no bow tie effect and it appears eye clean to my untrained eye but I had a good look in daylight.

I am not sure how to work out the ratio it was not a skinny diamond but I am not sure exactly how good the proportions should be.

The ring set in a yellow and white gold setting, (very simple as the budget would not allow for more) it is a basic solitare setting with knife edge, came to $5500AUD or 4200USD at todays exchange rate.

The guy seemed lovely and genuine but just wanted everyones thoughts. Thanks

Unless you post a picture, I don't believe that we can tell you anything from the report. G VS2 is nice, though!

Yes, without a pic nobody can really comment too much. You've seen the stone in person, and you seem to like it. I can't help with proportions, but IMO an important component is that the shape is pleasing to your eye. I recently purchased a yellow pear (profile pic) and honestly I just really like the shape of the pear and that's what I based my decision on. It's also encouraging that you don't see a bow-tie. Agree with DS, G VS2 is sweet!

Thank you for the replies.

I will come back and post pics once I have it. It was a replacement for my sadly lost ring so I had to use a jeweller in Australia. He seemed very helpful and when I mentioned I wanted a nice full pear not too skinny he produced this one. I tried it on in a setting and both myself and my Mum agreed it looked lovely but I don't have the expertise of the lovely ladies on the forum here so thought I would ask.

Does the price seem fair to you based on the report and obviously without seeing the stone that is hard. I just wanted to get the best available for the limited insurance replacement.

Thanks
