That looks to be a fairly large feather and located in a bad area, to the girdle edge. I don't believe it is eye clean either. The feather is the main thing giving it a SI2 rating because it is so large. I would pass on this one but I am not very experienced I will admit. I'm sure others will give their opinion and offer to find you something better. The folks are great here.

Thanks for the feedback!

I thought it was fairly large when I saw it but it took a little bit for me to see it at first, so I thought I might be focusing to heavily on the feather once I found it. I welcome more feedback and suggestions. My budget is around 4500 for the loose diamond, so I understand if a full carat is out of my grasp (without going down into the I - J range), just thought it might be able to find a eye clean si2 or one where the inclusion can be hidden.

I'd look in the .90 range and stay above SI2. I'd avoid a feather (crack) inclusion being the first listed as it is the most significant inclusion especially in SI2. That stone likely had cut issues, too. Are you using the HCA to screen the numbers?

If not, this will help you stay in a territory for stones with greatest potential:

table: 54-58

depth: 60-62.3

crown angle: 34-35.0

pavilion angle: 40.6-41.0

Here are 5 stones with higher colors, that are all well-cut, come from well-respected vendors, and are under budget:

If you drop to I-color, you can get some larger stones, equally as well cut.
