The search goes on and I''m looking at these two stones:

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-56229.htm -- 1.504 K/VVS2 -- HCA score of 0.7 -- this one looks fantastic and is a great size. Ok this is WAY out of our budget for the ring (total $$$) but I could make the case for it. $8663.00

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-273581.htm -- 1.248 J/SI1 -- this has an HCA of 0.8 -- it''s si1 but I bet it''s a good eyclean. $5859.00

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-50155.htm -- 1.256 K/VVS2 -- an HCA of 1.1 -- it''s pretty too, but I kinda feel like if I''m going to go K I want the biggest one I can get . . . $6360.00

Thoughts??????????????

Thank you

If you want the size and can swing it then #1 obviously.

Out of 2 and 3 then I would go the J. Better color and if it's eye-clean a better price too. Unless you really want it the VVS is overkill in MHO.

Did you see this one? It's an Expert Selection which can be every bit as beautiful as ACA (again IMHO). Slightly cheaper than the 1.5 K, but better color and you're not paying for the VVS clarity while still being very nice clarity.

1.54 J VS2 $8318

or this one,

ACA 1.56 J SI1 $8721

ooooooh. those are also both good options!

I had been leaning towards ACA since it sort of seem super fool proof but these are so lovely too! It''s killing me (just a teeny tiny) to have to go that low in color. I was wishing on a golden star for something in the H/I SI1 or SI2 category (eyeclean of COURSE) in the same size but alas that seems elusive.

But I have to admit my desire for a an H/I is mostly in part to other ladies I know with honking 2+ carat stones. I am kinda hot for the K colors as something different. I am a little enamored by their warmth

!

I am thinking of pairing with at least .9 or 1 carat side sapphires so the color shouldn''t be too much of an issue right? (def set in platinium).

Thoughts? Thanks for you input Anjeline!

I hear you! Does it have to be WF? I love them to bits, but here''s one from GOG that looks like a bargain. It''s an 1.4 H SI2. You get some of the 1.5 size without the 1.5 price jump. If it''s eyeclean could be a winner. I looked up the report on GOG and it''s AGS 0, even though the angles look a little weird. Still if AGS says it has Ideal everything who am I to argue?

Gets a 1 on the HCA. ah, I just ran it through the HCA and it''s a FIC, firey ideal cut. Yum! They have higher crowns than normal and are meant to have more fire, something I would love! anyway all would depend on if it''s eye-clean.

1.416 H SI2 $7815

What color are your sapphs? sounds gorgeous! I think plat would be just fine, even with a K. HAve you seen Sevens One''s K? Gorgeous.

I couldn''t find anything on WF that fit your wants/needs. I tried to say within your original budget.
I found this on James Allen.

1.41 J SI1 Ideal (1.3 on HCA) $6190 Have to verify for eye-cleanliness but they have a good return policy.

GOG has some nummy ones...
1.428 J SI2 $6739
http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3351/

1.35 J VS2 $6767
http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3044/
Nice choices Curio, just need to check the GOG diamond is eyeclean as I can see a largish inclusion right on the table which may be eye visible.

Of all the ones posted, I''d go with the 1.35 J VS2 from GOG. I think people will see an obvious tint to the K with side sapphires.

Hey There,

For the money, stick with a J stone if you can. I sense you really want to squeeze that stone so that would be a great place to be to get size and the set you really want. I didnt even look up any I stones cause I think you would be happy with a J (since you even were looking for K''s).

Wink has an Infinity stone (same quality as an ACA just a different cutter), 1.56, VS-2, J, for $8,985..on the higher end, but sometimes when you inquire privately, vendors will give discounts they dont advertise, you never know. ;-)

Also, check out Union Diamond. Keep in mind that a lot, if not all, of their listings are virtual which means they dont have it, & other vendors may be able to get a hold of those stones. There are too many to list, but
--click on loose diamonds
--click on "basic search"
--put in 1.45 to 1.65 in your size search, -- any polish/any symmetry (you can play with excellent and ideal here though)
--J to J -- depth 60.0 to 62.2
-- Vs-2 to SI-2 -- table 54 to 57

Then go check them all out one by one. You will find a 1.61, AGS that looks promising.

Have fun..
Judy
:-)

**remember, you may be able to have your vendor of choice look for them too**

OMG that stone is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks! i love these options especially the first. i just don''t know what i will do!

Oh no no no no no!!! if i could get the SIZE i wanted/look i would surely want for F/0G colored stone with an SI1 or VS2 or above clatiy. Someone had mentioned an oval, which I am not opposed to with a bigger three stoned ring but really round reallty makes the biggest impressions.

Putting side sapphires next to a lower diamond color will cause the diamond to look even warmer. Maybe find a setting with diamonds? just my .02

i have a k colored xfactor princess, it looks plenty white by itself, but with diamonds beside it, the warmth definitely shows. sapphires made my diamond look more brilliant and really showed it off!!! i say try sapphires, unless you are lucky enough to find some side diamonds that are close in color to the center diamond that you plan on purchasing. i found out that b&m stores usually have g,h,or i colored stones in their bands or wraps, and it took much emphasis off my beautiful centerpiece. experiment a little, see what u like for yourself. the sapphires did it for me. good luck!!

Thanks so much for all the great research -- I think I am leaning towards a J color -- either GOG or Whiteflash. Will keep you posted on that!

I like J/SI combos. When well cut they can be lovely and white. The K stones posted are clarity overkill and color definitely shows in this range. You could bump up in color by dropping down to clarity to the SI range. Many are still super eye clean.
