This is my replacement diamond from insurance. My original diamond had chipped and cracked, so my hubby and I went through insurance to replace it. This one is VS2, F color, good cut and GIA graded. After having it set I called the jeweler bc I am a little unhappy with the cut. Right now insurance is reviewing photos of the diamond to see if I can have the jeweler replace this one for one of a better cut. I wanted to see what you all thought of the cut, etc. The bottom facet looks dark in some lighting and it does have a bow-tie. Thoughts?

Do you have pictures of your original stone?

If the replacement stone is not cut as well as the original and displays a bowtie.. which I'm assuming the original did not... I would STRONGLY INSIST on another stone.

Agree. Isn't the point of insurance to replace to the same quality as what you originally had? If you aren't happy, keep looking.

Were you given the opportunity to approve this stone prior to setting? Did you select it or did the insurance company select it for you? Shame this wasn't caught prior to setting...

Agreed.

It's hard to determine the cut quality of hat stone without ASET or IDEALSCOPE images
