Any thoughts on these recent CAD images from my jeweler? It''s still not quite finished yet as the crown needs work. But it''s clearly getting there. I''m concerned about the extra metal on the edges of the band. Does that have to be there? I really wanted the diamonds to cover the whole band. Any thoughts on this issue?

from what i understand CAD''s are clunkier then in real life. Did you want the diamonds to be channel set? Or are you looking for something more like the Tiffany Novo, with the shared prongs?

if you are concerned with the extra metal on the side, then shared prongs would take away those concerns and not have a channel beadset like what you have. Have you thought about what design element that you really like to be incorporated into your ring? because it doesnt sound like you really are in love with your ring design so far, jmho.

You''re right. I''m not really in love with it yet. I like elements of it but I definitely did want something more like the Tiffany Novo. I didn''t realize that the design of that ring was shared prong; I thought it was just pave. I don''t really want a channel setting. I guess I need to call my jeweler and have a conversation about changing directions a bit. I hope I don''t drive her too crazy!

just for reference, is this what you''re trying to obtain?

I really like the band on the Novo, yes. So something similiar to that in terms of the band.

I think it will look great, I like the bling look. Am wondering if it''s necessary to have such thick prongs? imo thinner prongs would make it "daintier" if that makes sense. Either way, great ring.

Thanks. :=) The prongs would get thinned out in the making of the ring so they should be more delicate than they appear here.
