Thoughts on My Potential Cushion

I posted this elsewhere, but thought it deserved its own topic.

I would love your input on the cushion diamond described below. Keep in mind, I wanted a cushion cut that was a little more elongated than a typical cushion cut because my girlfriend has mentioned she likes that look.

Having said that, what do you think? Is there a specific area that I should try and improve?

Carat: 2.38
Measurements: 9.38 x 7.35 x 4.68
Color: F
Clarity: VS2
Table: 57%
Depth 63.7%
Culet: Medium
Thin to Very Thick
Polish: Good
Symmetry: Good
Fluorescence: None

Based on the new price, I''ll be paying right around $22,500.

Have you seen this diamond in person? You can''t judge a cushion by the numbers unfortunately, if it is with an online vendor, see if they can send you photographs and an ASET image.

Impossible to help with no images..., and even then its limited...

Grade report made by which lab?
Any comments on crown angle or height?

The specs are promising and price seems to be inline but performance must be judged by visual inspection. Are you working with someone like Mark at ERD or Jon at GOG who have respected views on cushions? If not, I would recommend getting pics, ASET, video and whatever else you can get your hands on.

If you had purchased through Whiteflash you wouldn''t even have to have this discussion. They would send you 40x pictures, Sarin, Aset, Idealscope, etc.

Plus you would have the benefit of their HONEST opinion.

But you decided to continue to do business with a jeweler who has already shown his willingness to rip you off. Don''t you trust HIS opinion? No? Then why reward him with your business

It is rated by GIA. I will get pictures to you as soon as I can. I''ve seen it in person and really thought it was a beautiful stone.

And I haven''t made up my mind to proceed with the jewler you are speaking of. I was actually thinking of going through Whiteflash, but wanted to get everyone''s opinion before I purchased the diamond.
