Dear all,
I am in the process of finding a wedding band to match my Lucida e-ring. I went to Tiffany twice to try on different styles. I have always had my eyes set on a channel set band, like the matching Lucida wedding band. However, I tried on the shared-setting band for the 1st time, and I really liked the look of it!!
I didn't really spend much time there, and I didn't pay my full attention while trying on the rings either. One thought did jump to mind: if I were to wear the wedding band alone, I think the shared-setting is really beautiful and more eye-catching.
I have attached the pictures of the two designs (on top left, Lucida wedding band, on top right, Tiffany shared-setting, 3.5mm)
On the bottom, they are both Lucida wedding bands. I'd like my fiance's band to have a diamond as well. Nothing too flashy of course. The bands are both from the Lucida collection. What do you think about them?
Last question, I am still debating to have the full eternity or half-eternity band. My dilemma is that my ring size is too small (3.5) for Tiffany's sizing, and they cannot resize the full eternity. I don't want to get it resize anywhere else because I don't want to risk damaging the integrity of the band. I really like the look for an eternity band, and what the Tiffany here in the UAE has offered to do (which they are NOT allowed to but would do it as a one-off) is to melt a bit of white gold inside of the band to make it smaller. However, that would mean that the all the Tiffany's marking will be covered. What do you think about this?
The other option is get size 4 and have it a bit big? (don't really like this option, BUT I still don't know how "big" it would be because the shops here do not carry anything smaller than size 5)
Or of course I can just get the half-eternity and have it sized to fit my finger perfectly. For the shared-setting, I actually think that the half-eternity looks rather nice. The metal seems to make the diamond stands out more and give it a more "solid" look. However, I didn't try on the full eternity at the store.
Thanks so much for your help!!
p.s. I am relocating to France soon. My fiance and I want to make a decision and get the bands here in the UAE. (We will be apart for a while
)
Why here??
because Tiffany's here offer DISCOUNTS. I did not know that and did not ask for discounts. But they offered discounts to me (20%)!! Moreover, the prices are already cheaper without the discounts in the UAE than anywhere else in the world (including the United States). My fi and I were so gutted that we didn't get my Lucida here!! The salesperson here always asked me .. "where did you get your Lucida", to which I replied "Hong Kong". And they, without fail, always answered with a response such as "it is cheaper here", or "it is more expensive in HK, but don't worry, we will give you the best price possible"
The reasons that they are able to give out discounts is because there is no tax here (no sales tax or corporate tax). So you might want to combine a vacation in Dubai and get all of your Tiffany's here. My fi and I have already decided that we would not buy it anywhere else in the world but in the UAE!!!
