what kind of diamond set wedding band would you put with a cushion solitaire on a plain platinum band?

I think a pave band the same width of the engagement ring would look lovely with a cushion solitaire.

Yes.

If the shank on the solitaire is a little wider you could also try a channel set band or a shared prong. But pave matches the antique feel of a cushion better.

All the ideas that others have posted are lovely - I also think you could do a split wedder, with tiny micropave bands on either side of your solitaire. I don''t think they''d be too blingy so they wouldn''t take away from your solitaire but they''d give you a little bit of delicate brightness on each side :)

(I am thinking of doing this when I get my wedder - my ER is being made at present and is an EC solitaire but I am baulking at the micropave split wedders because I worry they''ll be sparklier than my solitaire. You wouldn''t have that problem with a cushion though!)

I think a thin pave band would look beautiful.

Thanks guys. I will search out some nice slim pave set bands. the band of my engagement rings is very slim and tapered towards the stone.
Any thoughts on how a sapphire and diamond channel set eternity band would look? Too much?

Do you have a Tiffany's near you? If so, I'd suggest just going to Tiff's and trying on a bunch of different bands. They should have several styles for you to try on and then you can see which one you prefer with your e-ring. They usually have sapphire/diamond bands too so you would even be able to check that look out as well.
