Probably, but hard to say without pictures or an ASET image. Can you get either? That table is insanely big though.

EGL is often known for being soft on grading too...so it's likely at least a grade off in color and/or clarity.

Unfortunately I dont have pics or an ASET. Supposedly this came from a jeweler who was going out of business and needed to unload it. I understand that it has pretty weak measurements but am curious to know if its priced right.

I wouldn't buy it just because it's priced right. You can do better, that price isn't so fabulous for a poorly cut stone, with an EGL cert. See the one I linked to above. Almost the same price and much better.

A poorly cut stone will leak a lot of light and it will look like glass or frozen spit. And an EGL SI2 probably has visible inclusions too...maybe even black ones.

You can't tell completely by numbers, but having said that this one does not appear to have good proportions with that large table, for 9k you can do better. Also the ex thin part of the girdle may or may not be a potential durability issue, but you would need a professional to check and advise.

Thats what I figured. Thanks for the advise. Any other pointers to stones in that size and price range is appreciated.

You are most welcome! I don't know what we will be able to find in that size for that price...If you would consider going a bit smaller but still hitting around 1.5 cts, then this one might be an option if you could up the budget by $1500? I don't know if you have any flexibility there, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to post this one.
