I can see both sides to this. As Mara said, though, you don't have to use the buttons if you're uncomfortable with them. I don't plan on doing so because I'm really behind the times and I'm not into social media that much. Yes, I have a FB page, but I rarely post on it. I can see why the mods. added the buttons from a marketing/bunsiness perspective, like Mara mentioned. I know many of us are concerned about being found out and not remaining anonymous, but PS is a public forum. If someone really wanted to, they could find out all sorts of stuff about us. That's a bit unsettling but we can control that by being careful about what we post.

What's Stumble Upon and Reddit?

First, thank you for your feedback. Your thoughts are so valuable to us.

Great points somethingshiny, thank you. We are considering limiting this to educational forums. We are still thinking this through and testing. Please understand that all the forums are still public.

- The social buttons are for convenience of sharing threads. We are aware that the placement was not optimal right now, and they have been moved.
- Use of the buttons is optional. You don’t have to share, but we thought it might be convenient for everyone rather than having to cut and paste links.
- The buttons do not share links on their own. You have to click on them, and then hit “share,” “tweet,” etc. It’s a two-step process, so if you accidently click on one of the buttons, it won’t share the link unless you complete the second step.
- This is no different than sharing a link on your FB page, except it’s easier than copying and pasting. It will not allow others to view anything about you, so there is NO personal information being shared here. Only your active friends on FB will be able to see your link just as with ANY link you post to FB.

We have many things on our plate. Here is a sneak peak to what some of those are:

- We are currently working on making it easier to work with images and hope to have drag functionality as requested.
- A Fancy Colored Diamond Search.
- A Direct Messaging system (like a private messaging) for your convenience.
- We are trying to fix everyone issue as we are able to reproduce them and test. These things take and we thank you for your patience.

We have different folks working on different functionalities of the website. The other things are still actively being worked on but some things are easier to identify and fix than others.

Privacy is still very important for us and this new feature does not change it or contradict our policy. The policy basically states that you do not share yours or other's personal info such as email and FB username on Pricescope.

The Internet is progressing and this is the current new generation of sharing knowledge. We wish to reach as many people as we can to help them make educated choices about diamonds and jewelry.

We are embracing Facebook and other social networking as we grow and evolve. We now have a Facebook Page.

Thanks again for your comments. We appreciate it!

I haven't been posting much because I have been sick.
Also Andrey is a friend of mine so I hesitated a bit to post this because I am not unbiased in looking at it.

I think it is a good thing if for no other reason that it reminds people that this is the internet and they have no control over who is reading what they post.
Remember the show me your house thread? Pure insanity to post on the net.
Every once in a while people will post pictures that show or give their address and the PS moderators have to act fast to protect them.
I know, I have used the report post several times on such posts.
Will this help to remind people?, I think and hope so.

As Mara said it adds nothing that cant be done other ways very easily.

I consider Andrey personal friend, he was at my wedding as many know.
99% of the time when he makes changes they will be slow and in very small steps.
People have wanted a more open PS and this could very well be considered a small step in that direction.

EDit: I see Andrey was posting at the same time. See above.

Sounds like some great changes are in store for us!!! thanks! :appl: It will be nice to have the drag and drop function back with pictures and emoticons!!
