Hello everyone!

I think I may have found THE stone
36.gif

I mentioned awhile ago that I stumbled across a B&M that has an idealscope, Gemex machine, Sarin machine, etc! I spoke to the son of the owner and he knew of PS and he was excited to talk to me about the science of the stones.

I gave him my specs and he ended up with 4 stones. He saved them for me for a month or two while I moved and last week I went to take a look!

He pulled out the 4 and said he had a favorite, a NO and 2 really nice ones. I was able to immediately choose a favorite and then eliminate one. Low and behold. The one I did not like was the one he said NO to and my favorite was the TIC stone. The other two were nice, but next to the one I liked, there was no comparison.

Here are the specs:

These are from the GIA label:

1.054 RB
G SI1 (one small dark spec near the girdle and one small crystal inclusion, neither of which you can see w/ the naked eye)

6.49-6.53-4.05

Grd: Med to slightly thick
Sym: ex
Cut: ex
Polish: ex
Total depth: 62.2
Table: 54.7
CA: 35.1
PA: 40.6
Grd: Med to slightly thick (1.8%)
Fluorescence: faint
Sym: ex
Cut: ex
Polish: ex
Culet: none .6%

And on the sarin printout (I do not have the email version yet)

The only deductions are:

Brightness: .17
Contrast .14
FOR FINAL DEDUCTIONS of 0

We also looked at the Gemex machine. I am waiting for the print out from it, but it looked like it was going to score very well.

I also looked at it w/ an idealscope and the H&A looked glorious.

The stone is one of the best I’ve seen, surely the best in my budget and it faces up so nice and white and bright and the cut make it look much larger than 1 carat!!

I think I will be able to get it for about $5500-$6000 (our total cost at this jeweler also includes a platinum e-ring that costs about $1200 and our total out the door budget is $7K (including any taxes).

What do you think?

Looks pretty good! But I''m no expert... yet! haha

You seem to love it and it sounds like your SA did all the right things!

So exciting!

If you like the price and the service, sounds like you found your stone.

It looks really good. I recently got an H SI1 1.08 ct Round Brilliant with very similar dimensions, angles, and cut/polish/symmetry for $5300 just for the diamond from Whiteflash so it looks like you got lucky and found a nice reputable B & M since most B & M''s don''t seem to know what the heck they are even talking about. The price you''re getting seems to be as good a deal as you can get from a B & M. I''d run the specs through the HCA just for some additional advice. If you like what you see after that then I''d go for it and make sure you get some insurance on it. Good Luck!

Thanks guys! anyone else have any input??

Re-assurance is always encouraged
