stone 2 is completely eyeclean!

any feedback on which stone you would pick & why would be fantastic! here are some initial thoughts:

- which stone is cut better?
- would you compare the stones side by side to compare?
- stone 2 is lower in colour than stone 1 & has medium blue flourescence (good/bad?)

i have plugged both sets of numbers into the HCA, and they both fall into the white outline for AGS ideal candidates AND ''green'' outline of GIA excellent candidates

...decisions, decisions! any opinions welcomed :)

Blingy, can you post the colour and clarity of each, and what happened to the lower Idealscope?

Medium blue fluorescence is said to help lower colours face up whiter, so that could be a bonus. It depends on whether you want size etc, both are well cut.

COLOUR & CLARITY:

stone 1: G, VS2
stone 2: H, SI1

hi loralei!

just posted colour/clarity :)

stone2 - just copied the idealscope image posted on wf...

Is stone 1 an ACA?

What happened to the arrow in stone 2?

Hiya Blingy!

Can you link us to the Idealscope for the lower stone please, or repost it? It looks as if it didn't post clearly.

As to which to pick, if the IS is ok and the second one is eyeclean as you said, it is worth considering if the thumbs up from WF.

both stones are amongst whiteflash''s ''expert selection''.

loralei just asked the same q i.e. what happened to the arrows in stone2?

i have no idea at all! i will ask wf tomorrow...

Ok I just found the link to the diamond - I haven''t seen this before but I am guessing it could be a result of the photography with the IS, but WF will be able to advise - check with them as you say Blingy.

Here is the ASET for this diamond.

LOL! You are most welcome! I had to track down the ASET to see if there was a similar look to it, so let us know what happens!

I prefer # 1, I am not liking #2 at all to be honest.

Looking at the real pic of the second stone, I have a feeling it may be represented correctly, just not cut to super duper louper precision. It would still be a very bright, pretty diamond, and look better than the vast majority of stones out there.

If you don't need the absolute cream of the crop, and would prefer size, this would be a great choice. Nice touch with the med flo too!

I think so too, I will post the pic of the actual diamond - back in a mo! It looks better in the actual pic and a great size for the money.

Yep!

thank you everyone for such quick feedback!

here's what i got back from wf:

"...this is not an ACA and may or may not have an arrow pattern. This one just seems to be lacking that one area of cut. now, the red is showing the light return on the diamond which is really great!"

Yes, it''s got great light return. So like I said, if you''re not a precision nut, this would be a great stone.

hi everyone!

at the risk of being redundant - thanks again for all your posts, really.

cut is important to me, but i don''t think i''m too picky if all the arrows are not perfect through the IS/naked eye. as long as it''s sparkly and pretty (omg!), w/good stats - i''d be happy!

the setting i have choosen is ''inspired by'' the daniel k union square (attached).

i''m a petite woman, and i''m seriously wondering if the 1.59 will be way too big/blingy for me vs. the 1.22. we are also planning to get wedding bands - mine would obviously match the union square setting.

setting!

LOL!! As Ellen says, if you are not a precision nut this could be a great stone! I would reserve it if you are seriously considering it.

BTW as to this stone being too blingy? Diamonds shrink so what looks too big now would be perfect in a few days...

Yes. Seriously, they do. A 1.6 is a LOVELY size, and this is coming from one of the very few "not a real size gal" gals.

It will definitely be pretty and sparkly!

And that setting is absolutly gorgeous.

Can''t wait to see the CADS!

any comments on the cut of the 1.59c stone?

i have read that I/J colours face up white if a stone is really well cut...

given the missing arrow (idealscope included)...will the H still face up white (given the medium flour. as well)?

thanks!
