This is how you must wear your watch this season

Just curious if anyone wears their watch like this? Is this common? I don't think I've ever seen watches over clothing, but I live in a warmer climate.

I don't, but in thinking about it, my watches run quite loose in the winter because I swell a little in the summer. So, with it being cold, I could see not wanting cold metal on my skin, and also not wanting my watch super loose like a bracelet.

It looks like it might apply to people who buy/wear watches as fun accessories. It seems more suited for a specific watch that might match a particular outfit as opposed to an every day watch.

It reminds me of stretch bands on watches (I know there are people who love those but my gawd are those things hard to size--I did a couple stints at jewelry counters in department stores and when I had to size those while people waited I wanted to stab my own eyes out) and I really hope those don't make a comeback!

I do this too. I think it's practical if, for example you have 19 layers and mittens on - its pretty difficult to check the time on a watch. But I don't really understand it otherwise. And it looks odd to me.

Fashionista wannabes on Instagram must have needed a new trend this season. It looks like their watch is too big. Which looks silly.
