Based on the cut advisor report here on PS, it is pretty average on brilliance and fire. I am looking at a 1.202 ct G SI1 for $6,300 and it scores higher in brilliance and fire. To me, it looks like you may be over paying for the diamond. But then again I dont know much more than what the tools here tell me, so I hope some more experienced people will chime in.

Pavilion angle is too high for that crown angle, leakage is possible. Not for me.

Just FYI: Usually when someone says they have a "hookup" they end up getting ripped off one way or another...
