Am I the only one who thinks this way? I feel that my stone looks so much bigger when my fingers aren''t swollen or when I lose weight.

I think so. I used to wear size 8 rings. Now I wear size 6 rings and I actually like bigger stones now (even though I still tend to like less than 1 ct. sized stones).

I think finger size can make a big difference.

My friend wanted at least a 1 ct. diamond since she wears a size 9-10 ring and felt anything smaller would get "lost" on her finger. She received a .75 ct. ring which does look smaller on her finger than it does on mine (size 5).

A big ditto. My ring looks a lot bigger after I''ve gone to the gym. I tend to fluctuate a lot depending on how much sodium I''ve ingested for the day and it definitely shows - slimmer fingers = bigger appearing ring.

Absolutely!

For sure!!

Definitely agree! Depending on the sort of fluid day you are having

I definitely agree too. My ring definitely looks bigger to me when I''ve lost some weight.

yes! I originally thought I wanted a 2 carat stone, but when i went ring shopping with FF I realized 2 carats looks costumey on my 4.5 finger. So we''re saving some money on something closer to 1.1 :)...now hopefully I can keep my finger size down!

Fo'' SHO''

That''s it then. I''m going on a diet tomorrow!

And all this while I''ve been thinking the diamond''s grown bigger... darn..

It''s the same theory as loose jeans vs. tight jeans.

Of course, it's just a matter of proportion. The larger percentage of your finger that's covered, the larger the diamond appears to be.

Just like the same handbag will look larger on a petite woman than on a full-figured woman.

This has been discussed ad nauseam on PS, so lots of people agree -- it's not "just you!"

Finger liposuction has been hilariously discussed on PS too.
