I know the setting I want:

but Leon is also recommending me some center stones as well. I was planning on getting it from WF or GOG. He is the man for custom rings but do I also let him choose the center? the e-ring design is what i''m keep on the down low from my GF so I don''t know what to do.

Do you intend on upgrading the stone at any point in the future? If you are I would find out if Leon allows trade up.

How exciting to be buying a Leon setting though!!!

Great point.

Interesting.... I don''t know that anyone on PS has done this before ( at least not in my time here). When I talked to Leon a while ago when I was just gatehering ideas he too told me he could source the stone. The man has an amazing eye, so it can''t hurt to let him try. Are you wanting an Asscher?

dam I did forget about the upgrade!
so it will be either GOG or WF. I like GOG b/c they give you greatimages

I really want an asscher (emerald square cut

) for the center piece. I wanted the F color but by reading the post with J color. I am thinking about a 1.5 -2 ct H or J?

If you want an asscher trust GOG to find you a killer one. Just contact Jon and tell him your budget and your preferences and he can go from there.

Then I agree... Call Jon and tell him your budget and what you are thinking, he will find you a great stone! Are you working with an sort of time frame here? bc Leon is taking 6 weeks these days...

I think you need to see some lower colors asschers in person before commiting to a J. asschers will show color much more easily than a round and I personally wouldn''t go that low in that shape.

When I spoke to LM last year, he also asked for the opportunity to source my center stone (he did mention that he doesn''t make much at all - less that a few % on each stone sale). After we spoke at length, it became clear that I am the sort who needs to see as many stones as possible before committing so he realized that this wasn''t the way to go with someone like me and he referred me to his stone source directly. But I didn''t go that route in the end so it''s all moot. I think the way you''re going - via GOG for the stone so you can upgrade - is probably the best way...Though keep in mind, a LM setting with pave isn''t cheap and if you do plan to upgrade, you might want to consider waiting on the LM setting until you get to the center stone size you want to stay at. I''d ask LM about the process of upgrading your center stone and what that will mean in terms of his settings...he might be able to easily re do the head, but then again, he might prefer to re make the entire setting and that''s something you should discuss before having him make this ring, if you''re planning on upgrading in the future.

Ditto.

Another vote for Jon at GOG for the center stone. I don''t doubt that Leon could pick out a fab asscher, but Jon''s array of services are outstanding, they come with upgrade possibilities and are focused solely on the stone.

Well since I''m going with a LM setting I was thinking I would get a good size (1.5 -2ct)with a lower color (G-J) that way someday I can get her a D-F
