I thought I''d make a seperate thread so the non-pregnant mommies could see it, too.

So I have a spot on the left side of my belly that, when the baby touches it, REALLY hurts. It basically feels like I have no "padding" in that particular spot, and little hands and feet are scraping through. Could the uterus actually be thinner in this spot than anywhere else? Should I be worried? Something that does make me concerned is that my mom said when she had me, her uterus looked like webbing in the front it was so thin - the doctor that did her c-section said he could actually see me through the membrane.

Honestly, I''d probably call the doctor and leave a message... possibly also mentioning what happened with your mom. Better safe than sorry!

I think I''m going to, but I don''t know if I will get her on a weekend - I''m with a midwife, not a doctor. I supposed I could call the nurse line or L&D...hm.

I''ve tried researching this and it seems to only really be common after a c-section, which I have never had.

Hoping you get an answer MP. I know these last days can be soooo painful. Let us know what you find out. HUGS!!!!!

I have no answers to give you - but given your mom''s history, I''d call the dr. too just to be safe.

Better to be safe than sorry, so I''ll echo the others in calling someone. How far along are you MP?

Try to get an appointment quickly. Better to be safe.

Towards the end the baby basically cannot move much, so his feet are always in one place, and his hands or his elbows. So when he moves he is pushing and kicking always in one spot! I think it causes bruises. I personally had a lot of pain in the area where my son''s feet were, up under my ribs on the right side. OUCH. SO honestly I doubt you have a thin uterus, I bet you are just bruised inside!

But you might as well ask. At the end though, unless you are cramping or bleeding I don''t think they will call you in or worry too much

PAIN comes with the territory! I could not walk at all because my son was malpositioned, it felt like a hammer to the pubic bone with every step. Evil Critch Pain. Anyways, give a call but don''t worry too much!

Ditto Dreamer. I hope you get some answers! I know that towards the end I could not only feel her feet against my belly but I could grab on to it and hold it while she tried to squirm away. That''s how I knew she would be ticklish lol.

Never hurts to call though! You are so close!

gurl you DON''T have any padding left!!!! at the end the uterus is very thin... that is why you can feel every lump and bump like it''s right there. though given your mom''s history, i''d def email or call your Dr just to be on the safe side but i agree it''s prob just that kid has nowhere to go esp given your short torso. i totally sympathize. i also could grab J''s foot at the end where he liked to try to jam it under my rib.

my MIL told me that both her kids actually left visible bruises on her rib area... after she said that i was like ''ok i won''t complain anymore, suck it up suck it up''.

i know it''s SO SO hard those last 2-3 weeks, everything hurts and you can''t get comfortable at all. just try to hang in there...it''s so close (and then a diff kind of pain begins, aka the kid chomping on your nipples!!!).

Thanks, ladies. I called the midwives and even though I didn''t get to talk to mine, I explained to her what I was feeling. She said that more likely than not, it''s actually a nerve that is close to the inner surface of my uterus that the baby is touching and that''s why it hurts so much more than it does anywhere else. She said to monitor it and if it got worse to call in and she would have me come for an ultrasound. I''m not too worried now - the nerve idea makes sense to me.

Micah still has room to roll over, and he does it often, so thankfully today he is facing away from the sore spot! At 38 weeks I am hoping there isn''t much further to go!

Yes, I had this too where Hunter''s feet were! The pain would radiate around my back!. I would try different positions to help shift him when the pain hit and it helped.

MP, I was really concerned about scar tissue on my uterus from earlier surgeries causing issues, but the OBs were unanimous in saying that it wasn''t going to be an issue after the baby made it for a few months. I had read some horror stories about emergency c-sections online...but then I stopped googling anything and felt so much better.

Good luck with the pain, but just think, there is a light at the end of this tunnel. I feel like my little guy has his toes curled around my broken ribs permanently. A friend has sciatica so badly she can''t go up stairs, poor lady! DH told me it is good that men aren''t in charge of reproduction or there would be very few people!
