I am still shopping around for a setting. The stone is a princess cut 1.03CT. I like and know my girlfriend likes the Xprong lucinda settings but she''s mentioned that she is not to keen on the thick prongs. I have to agree. It almost seems to take away from the profile of the stone. I know its a safety issue but can anyone recomend a similar setting with thinner prongs? I am not against getting channel set diamonds or even side stones.

Thanks

That''s one of the settings I am looking at. I really like that one and I think she''d love it as well, but that line that goes across the bottom of the prong, doesn''t that hide some of the profile? Maybe you diamond is bigger so its not as bad.

I personally would be nervous to set a princess cut in a "thin" prong setting - princesses are highly prone to chipping because of their 4 pointed corners. To be safe I would set it in a V-prong that completely covers each corner.
