Thin channel setting for AVR?

Hello all!

So my fiance and I have bitten the bullet and chosen a roughly 1.5 ct K-colored AVR!

Where I am still struggling is what to set this baby in - I know it'll be yellow gold, preferably 6-pronged, but other than that I'm not sure. After my post last time, on the excellent advice here, I contacted BGD and sent a sketch to pursue the idea of custom, but I am not sure if they can execute my idea in the time needed - I need to have the ring done by June 9 - so we'll see how that pans out. I am pursuing back-up plans now, and I have been thinking about the Vatche Swan with Channel (http://idjewelryonline.com/product_info.php?products_id=9397&osCsid=48df065eb57fe1aef6820fdec99f3e11) or with Micropave and the Vatche Royal Crown with Channel and Pave, but both are a bit thicker than I'd like - I'd prefer a 2-2.5 mm shank, and both are larger than 2.8.

Anyone know where I can find a 2 mm channel setting? I really love the look of a dainty shank, but the delicacy of micropave is slightly intimidating; that said, I don't think I'd be wearing this daily - should I reconsider micropave?

I've also looked at many other settings and vendors, but found many a bit too ornate for my taste (many VC - although I like the Grymera I wish it wasn't split-shank, Tacori, JbEG - although I love the Gabbie my fiance seems to prefer something without a halo). Now I'm looking at the Danhov abbreggio now (http://www.jamesallen.com/designer-engagement-rings/meno-collection-by-danhov/ring/item_294-7644.asp). Any other suggestions for something that leans romantic but has a clean feel?

Did you by chance get the 1.76ct K SI2? Matt did some comparison videos for me regarding the isee2 and megascope and it looked beautiful. You don't have to answer if you're thing to keep it on the dl

Hi there! I'm a little confused as to the deadline, since your fiance and you picked this out together? I'm afraid you may be left with settings that are in stock. Is that the right link to the swirly top Danhov? Those are quite different from the channel set. BTW - GOG does custom work if you don't find what you want - have you spoken to them about options?

I'm not loving either for an AVR. I'd see if GOG an get any of these in stock for in yellow gold you in time:

Hey webdiva, so the June 9 deadline is there because my parents are hosting an engagement coming-out party for both families, so unfortunately I have to have the ring by then. I posted the Danhov because I didn't find anything that I loved in channel, so I've started looking at pave.

I haven't talked to GOG about custom work, I didn't know that they did that! I'll email Marie and see and ask about the Beverley K settings then!

GOG does some custom. BUT what I mean was the Beverly K customizes their own settings. Either way... worth a conversation with Marie.

And honestly, I would have GOG pop that AVR in a temp setting and wait the time needed to create your dream ring! Custom Bev K takes minimum 4 weeks (edit: which are WORTH the wait, btw ).

Big gigantic ditto! I don't see a channel set ring at all right for an AVR. Beverley K is good and of course, for a regular pave halo, you can try Victor Canera, Steven Kirsch, or Maytal Hannah.
